12th man

Post by alwaysaclaret » Sat Nov 07, 2020 12:31 pm

Seems pretty clear to me we're missing the fan's backing at the moment, as we all know we're not the most gifted of sides in this league, but it does seem apparent we're missing this massively at the moment, sooner we get back on the turf the better.

Not really. We did ok without the fans in the 8 games after restart.

Something else is awry.

Hard one this. Is the same for all and balances out away from home, but feel while we are in this rut, having the crowd behind us at home would help get that extra yard out of players to turn it around more quickly.

It isn’t known as fortress Turf Moor for the past few seasons for no reason. The fans do make a difference for our players at home, more so than other clubs fans at their own grounds. I think it’s the mentality of our players, they thrive off of our energy at home, it makes a difference.

I think the same applies to Sheff Utd.

Yeah! Let’s all sing songs unintelligibly at 1000 beats per minute to spur our hoofball along!

It wasn't fortress Turf Moor when we went through longer barren periods in the not too distant past when we had our home support.
Let's not look for excuses

Giving opinions as to why I think our players respond well to fans support is not the same as creating excuses for poor performances.

I think you’re probably right, and it shows so far this season.

I think sheff united have had hell of a tough start that’s the biggest factor for them, maybe not start but a recent run of games.

OK, so tell me why the players didn't respond to the great crowd support during the times in recent years when we stayed on bad runs

The usual atmosphere at home is no different to how it is now. Library like.

Missing

The

Point...

They did respond, we did survive, my fear for this season is that without the fans we won’t.

Bill Lawrie's outbursts were the stuff of legend on there.

I know what you are trying to say but you are saying it at the wrong time and therefore your opinion is a bad one
