Which clubs are suffering most from no crowd ?

Post by s6t9a2f3f » Sun Nov 08, 2020 5:15 pm

For me because of the crowd noise generated and intimidating atmosphere : (no particular order)

Leeds
Palace
Newcastle
Everton
Liverpool

No one really.

The league table, in general, is about what you'd expect this early into the season.

I'd say Sheff Utd are missing the atmosphere, last season they got in other teams faces and fed off the crowd, obviously they can't do that this season, and it's affecting them more than most.

Man Utd are having their worst home run in decades, now it could purely be coincidence, but it's a spooky coincidence in that case, normally teams go to OT and try and quieten the fans in the opening 20 minutes, but now visiting teams are attacking United a lot more, and their defence is being cruelly exposed, it suits their style to hit on the break hence why their away far outweigh their home results so far.

Fanzines & forums of well supported clubs around the globe have been asking professional clubs who rarely get many on for advice.
Hear tell Blackburn Wrovers have been approached more than most.

Like them or not Elland Road would have been bouncing this season.

Oh, I don’t know.

I reckon a fair few fans would’ve liked to have given Garlick a gob full. That would’ve created an atmosphere at least.

Think this season the clubs like us - those with less technical ability - will suffer most.

Think the crowd, particularly at the turf, give our players the extra half yard that helps us compete against the more technically gifted teams.

Same for all of us down there though.

Not the question asked, but I believe certain teams benefit.

I personally think it has helped Everton, primarily as I've never know a set of fans like them to get on the back of their players.

Financially - Arsenal & Spurs.
A cool £100m each per season - 30% and 29% respectively of their total revenues

I was a Teasdale out fan he often got both barrels.MG at some point put his money in and won the golden ticket. Spending the amount of money at the time on Andre Gray in the championship will do for me. Though the recent million quid purchase is a strange one tbh.
