Rupert Bear turns 100: The adventures continue

Post by tiger76 » Mon Nov 09, 2020 4:20 pm

A belated happy birthday to the centenarian Rupert, I often got a Rupert annual as a stocking filler on the big day, sadly they're long gone now :)

Used to watch the kids TV shows at my grandads. He recorded so many of them for us on VHS. Great kids TV.

Some Rupert annuals are worth a fortune nowadays.

Yep them, dinky cars & Star Wars toys in particular go for crazy money, of course when you're are a child you don't think about the potential value, you just use them, hence why there's a huge demand for items in mint condition, because they're like gold dust.

There's a picture of him in the next special album with his thimble souvenir collection.

Christmas Day:

"There's the one he got from Llandudno, look there in the picture".

"Oh and there's an Air BnB plaque on the picture of the door outside".

BBC News - Star Wars toys dumped in Stourbridge garage fetch £250k

Slightly O/T but the value of toys has been mentioned. Imagine this find.

I had the 1977 annual but could never do the sleepy gnome origami. Kept me quiet trying though!
