Re: Last Man Standing is launched
CT, instead of folk asking if their teams have been received each week would it be easier to put a tick box in the OP to show they have arrived?
Still means work for you but must be easier than individual replies.

It was sent to the email address from which the payment was received. I'll resend it to the email address you are registered with on here if that's preferable.

Good point, I don't even know if my email address is the right 1 when I first registered yonks ago & when you go to the profile settings it doesn't even list what's on the records there, when you normally log in it just requests username & password. I've just paid if you could send the link to the registered PayPal email account I'd appreciate thanks.

Thanks Kate, I've just checked & paid it's right, I don't usually tweak with the settings I normally keep everything hassle free.
Re: Last Man Standing is launched
welcome, since I had not received mail I went looking to be sure which mail I had used here, was not expecting it to be from the payment, in my case PayPal, so I had checked today to be sure. I am not good with electronics and do occasionally have issues with the different mail accounts I have but there are aligned to do different things so usually I can see what each is doing.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 7:30 pmThanks Kate, I've just checked & paid it's right, I don't usually tweak with the settings I normally keep everything hassle free.
Re: Last Man Standing is launched
My reply came to my Paypal acc email address (which is different to my UTC acc) very quickly after payment went throughKateR wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 7:46 pmwelcome, since I had not received mail I went looking to be sure which mail I had used here, was not expecting it to be from the payment, in my case PayPal, so I had checked today to be sure. Re: Last Man Standing is launched
yes, understand that, "our" paypal email address is my husbands mail, he says not there but may have deleted, I can not access hubby's mail, don't check it, so have to take his word that it's not there. Hence the request to my mail address for UTC acc.

I think we should put the chosen teams up now they're in and can't be changed.
It was a tough weekend to start it, could be a lot of players leaving the competition early.

Re: Last Man Standing is launched
That was my plan, to reveal the chosen teams, but as was pointed out yesterday it could be used tactically later in the competition.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sat Nov 21, 2020 11:03 amI think we should put the chosen teams up now they're in and can't be changed.

What I will reveal is which teams have seen people leave the competition.
One thing I can confirm is that there are nine Premier League teams who no one has chosen.

I don't see what tactical advantage you get if you see the choices once they can't be changed.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Nov 21, 2020 11:33 amThat was my plan, to reveal the chosen teams, but as was pointed out yesterday it could be used tactically later in the competition.

If you have multiple teams, then of course you have an advantage. But you still have to pick teams to win.
But this game is like the Grand National. Just as many win by picking the choice of name as do by studying form etc..

I assume it's because you know what teams people have already selected and so know what they have left to select, later in the competition.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sat Nov 21, 2020 11:54 amI don't see what tactical advantage you get if you see the choices once they can't be changed.

However, I think allowing this is a good thing - makes those who are a bit more serious, take that into account.

Neither did I but was pointed out to me that when it gets down to a small number, you can look back and work out which teams your competitors can still go for if they've all been published.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sat Nov 21, 2020 11:54 amI don't see what tactical advantage you get if you see the choices once they can't be changed.

Just takes a bit of the fun away and talking points.
It's still for a great cause and thanks for organizing.

Re: Last Man Standing is launched
I’d be for publishing the picks after the deadline is past. That’s how previous competitions I’ve been in have worked. So long as picks aren’t revealed before the deadline, the tactical element is minimal. Just makes it a bit more interesting when you know who everyone is on, you can follow it throughout the weekend then.
Re: Last Man Standing is launched
I know it's all in good fun for a cause but the more that continue to play the better.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Nov 21, 2020 12:26 pmNeither did I but was pointed out to me that when it gets down to a small number, you can look back and work out which teams your competitors can still go for if they've all been published.
Just to answer Quicken's question if a player who has entered multiple times has 2 still left in they may just copy the most popular pick that weekend, or if down to a 2 or 3 person shoot out use 1 account to follow the opposition, and pick another fancied team with the other. It strongly increasing their chance as the other person cannot win if their selection keeps being used by the other person with multiple entries left. As theyll either both win, or both lose on that leg but they then have another shot to win.
As CT says he will ge can put out who went out with what team as and when it happens, so will still be a talking point, but if it remains 100% fair for all no matter how many times you've entered, I think it will keep more people interested.
Suppose its trial and error, and the winner is the foodbank anyway so all is well
