Pope didn't have much to do to be fair. Has Henderson played any minutes this season?

You’ll never beat Nick Pope. 4 caps, 0 conceded.

Unfortunately our other goalkeeper is on the wrong end of a 1-0, so far. C'mon BPF!!

Re: England vs Republic of Ireland
Well done Nick on half a clean sheet anyway, it actually does make sense for Henderson to get some international experience, and this is as good a time as any to blood him.
Re: England vs Republic of Ireland
I keep swapping between England and Scotland but the commentator on itv is doing my head in with his Calvert lewin obsession!!!

Re: England vs Republic of Ireland
It makes no sense whatever to give United reserve keeper any game time .Nick must be really sickened off getting replaced with another media pick

It’s a squad game now and they all need minutes. However unlikely it is they’ll be called for.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 9:24 pmIt makes no sense whatever to give United reserve keeper any game time .Nick must be really sickened off getting replaced with another media pick

We seem to have reverted back to the old England now, lots of passing but mainly backwards.

Re: England vs Republic of Ireland
Southgate is insulting every senior English uncapped player by continuing to throw caps around like confetti to the likes of Saka, Bellingham, Maitland-Niles, etc. They have barely played any senior football.

As has been said, it's only a friendly, how else would they get senior football experience?huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 9:40 pmSouthgate is insulting every senior English uncapped player by continuing to throw caps around like confetti to the likes of Saka, Bellingham, Maitland-Niles, etc. They have barely played any senior football.

Re: England vs Republic of Ireland
To be fair these young lads are the long term future of the England team. We all agree tarks and mee should be in that team but they are not going to make a long term impact with so many talented youngsters. Sadly I think that ship has sailed for our defensive rockshuw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 9:40 pmSouthgate is insulting every senior English uncapped player by continuing to throw caps around like confetti to the likes of Saka, Bellingham, Maitland-Niles, etc. They have barely played any senior football.

Re: England vs Republic of Ireland
Exactly imagine we get to next summer and this scenario occurs, Pickford picks up an injury, so Pope plays in the 1st game, say he gets red-carded, then Henderson will be called upon, and you'd rather he'd had some minutes in the England team if this was to occur, as you say it's an unlikely scenario, but GS would be remiss if he didn't cover all the bases.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 9:33 pmIt’s a squad game now and they all need minutes. Re: England vs Republic of Ireland
Was wondering whether any of the Ireland players could get in the England squad and whilst I dont think he would make the starting 11 the only one who might make the squad would be John Egan.
We have a fair few decent centre halfs but I think he could give the likes of Coady and Keane a run for their money
