Let's hope he comes through injury free, and this appearance increases his confidence which has been sadly lacking this campaign, a goal or an assist would be great, but failing that a good performance will suffice. :)

Boothroyd was talking about not damaging the players so we can expect early subs.

Well it was 3-3 last time they met.

Observations after 20 mins.

1. McNeil playing well. Having to take throw ins!
Seems integral to FKs and corners.

2. Hudson-Odoi thinks he is the big cheese.
Takes poor fk. Takes corner to McNeil. Misses golden chance.

3. The decision making, throughout the team, shows they are all still learning.

4. Why does Southgate promote so many learners to the national team, when they are still wet behind the ears?

1-1
Good crosses from McNeil. Strikers not up to heading them!

2-1 Dwight assist from a corner. Looks to be playing wing back behind Hudson-Odoi?

Don’t go there, Ian. I said same on match thread last night and took 3 hefty kicks for my trouble.
Nice to see Dwight getting those crosses in again but he needs to save a few for CP match.

Couple of good runs from him but they are all playing lots of tippy tappy ball retention stuff. Forwards not into heading the ball either. Still 3-1 and looking reasonably comfortable. Watching on HESgoal

That's enough for me.
Well played Dwight.

Good run out for Dwight, hope that's got him back in the groove again, we desperately need him firing again.

So that he can get in the Guiness Book Of Records?:
Which international manager dished out the most caps?
They chuck them around like confetti, it seems to me that the international cap has been massively devalued recently.

Playing a player of Dwights quality at wing-back tells you all you need to know about Bothroyd, terrible manager.

I thought he had his best game that I have seen for England. The other players were actually passing to him for a change, and not just the big club players.

His corner for the second goal was superb. Flat and well struck, very difficult to defend against.

I actually thought Boothroyd managed him really well, and more effectively than we handle him. Not surprising he created a number of chances

I agree.
It should be a culmination of all the learning, work, experience and relent that puts you in the frame to challenge the currently recognised best player, in your position.

Instead, he brings a 17 year old talent into the squad, with 6 senior games experience, after a drop out and then plays him.
Mockery.
