Now he’s got a nice multi million villa in Quinta, I’m not too sure he’ll be too arsed about his north west homes, owned or rented. I just hope he he likes our “Lancashire Home”

I know it's a dubious link, but I know a guy who knows DM quite well, he told the guy that Rio Ferdinand was the main culprit in his demise at Man Utd for what it's worth !

Re: David Moyes...
David Moyes used to live just off the M6 on the outskirts of Preston but sold the house for £4 million and moved to Lytham, not sure when.

Re: David Moyes...
I went to a Lancs Cup match at Preston around three years ago and was talking to a Preston fan on the touchline. He knew Moyes well. He told me that his family recommended that he didn’t take the Man United job but Moyes said it was a job you just can’t turn down. This bloke told me he didn’t have a chance from day one with players plotting against him immediately. He told me that Ferdinand was the leader.Nonayforever wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 10:22 pmI know it's a dubious link, but I know a guy who knows DM quite well, he told the guy that Rio Ferdinand was the main culprit in his demise at Man Utd for what it's worth !
It happens though. It happened at Burnley with Laws. The same players tried to force out Howe but he had the wherewithal and backing to force them out.

Wouldn't surprise me that player power was an issue.Nonayforever wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 10:22 pmI know it's a dubious link, but I know a guy who knows DM quite well, he told the guy that Rio Ferdinand was the main culprit in his demise at Man Utd for what it's worth !
Still an ongoing problem for Ole I suspect with the likes of Pogba.

He’s a nasty piece of work, he was having numerous affairs whilst his wife was battling cancer. I just don’t like the bloke, fantastic footballer and captain thoughNonayforever wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 10:22 pmI know it's a dubious link, but I know a guy who knows DM quite well, he told the guy that Rio Ferdinand was the main culprit in his demise at Man Utd for what it's worth !

In fairness to the Burnley players , they knew along with90% of the supporters,Laws was way out of his depthClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 10:54 pmI went to a Lancs Cup match at Preston around three years ago and was talking to a Preston fan on the touchline. Re: David Moyes...
Is a manager out of his depth when the players are behaving like spurned lovers and are basically downing tools?
If the players had carried on pulling in the same direction as they had been under Coyle things may of been different.

Re: David Moyes...
It’s not that bad, guess he’s only doing it twice a week. When I lived in St Annes I had regular meetings in London and it wasn’t too much of a bind getting there and back in a day on the train.

Re: David Moyes...
It's common knowledge that a number of senior players basically downed tools cos Coyle had gone.
They tried to down tools for Howe but he shipped them out.
If they'd pulled their fingers out and carried on putting the same effort in as they had under Coyle things may well of been different.

Ok then , remind us all what has Laws done since in managementGodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 17, 2020 11:47 pmIt's common knowledge that a number of senior players basically downed tools cos Coyle had gone.

Re: David Moyes...
That wasn't the point up for discussion though.
You're not having it that the players were partly to blame, even though its common knowledge and has been mentioned on here many a time.
Deflect away onto Laws all you like, I'll agree he was the wrong man for the job, however he wasn't helped by grown men behaving like spurned lovers and I'm glad Howe came in and shipped them out.
Re: David Moyes...
Clarke Carlise basically admitted as much in his book. I lost a lot of respect for certain players the way they gave up that season. The surrender at home to b******* was pathetic.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 17, 2020 11:47 pmIt's common knowledge that a number of senior players basically downed tools cos Coyle had gone.

Laws was never the right man for the job, but there is no doubt the players downed tools.
It was after our relegation from the PL, and there were a group of players out in town one night on the beer, and I spoke to Steven Caldwell. His comments regarding Laws was along the lines of ‘we could’ve got anyone in as manager, but we got him’.
And there was no doubt that Howe was battling a group of senior pro’s in the dressing room too.
Edit- just seen the Clarke Carlisle comments above. He was definitely one of if not the main protagonist to get Howe out.

Re: David Moyes...
Whoever is manager of a football club ...the players should all still give 100%

Re: David Moyes...
Better managers than Laws have ended up getting fired/leaving due to player power.
Gullit, Ranieri, Villa-Boas, Clough, Ancelotti, Mourinho,, Moyes, Puel, Mazzarri.
With the exception of Ancelotti, the rest all lost a job in English football after the players downed tools.
2 of those managers are amongst the most decorated managers ever.
