David Moyes...
Chatting with him earlier on the front at Lytham (he lives there). No actually on the front like a tramp, but a house just off it.
What a friendly down to earth chap. Says they won’t be going back in for Tarks, but Tarks was very keen on the move.
Thinks Dyche will go this season if the right job comes up. I said, where realistically would he go. He said Newcastle. He also said palace would have been back in for him had Hodgson started the season badly.
I mentioned Alex Neil as being one who would do well in the PL. He agreed..said he was harshly treated at Norwich.
Always thought moyes was an arrogant so and so. How wrong I was

Re: David Moyes...
I'm a bit sceptical that he discussed his clubs transfer dealings with some complete stranger he's just bumped into in the street.

How long has he lived there? I know he lived close to Barry Kilby at one time.Marney&Mee wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 12:16 pmChatting with him earlier on the front at Lytham (he lives there). No actually on the front like a tramp, but a house just off it.

I think Dyche would have gone if West Ham had dispensed with Moyes and I know Palace were considering bringing him in to replace Hodgson. I am absolutely certain he would not be the Burnley manager now had other jobs come up during the summer. I was almost scoffed at initially on here when I suggested there was a problem between him and the chairman but everyone knows about that now and it is a problem that is as bad as it can get and it is irreparable now. One of them has to go because the club is in absolute turmoil.
Alex Neil - interesting one that, someone at the club suggested him to me as a potential replacement for Dyche and that was probably very early this year.

He’s been there about 2 years or so (maybe longer). Bought the house Colin hendry used to live in before he sold it to one of the Warburtons. Knocked on the door and offered them too much to refuse.

I remember him being at a couple of Burnley games a few years ago which brought a lot of speculation but he was just Barry Kilby's guest. I was told they were neighbours in Ribchester.Marney&Mee wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 12:35 pmHe’s been there about 2 years or so (maybe longer). True that Grumps, he indeed did help the local community delivering fruit and veg, from our local greengrocers
( Strongs) in Lytham.

Re: David Moyes...
We were flying to France to watch England in the Euros just over 4 years ago. David Moyes was sat alongside us for the 1 hour flight.
He was very friendly and when he realised we were Burnley fans he talked to us about our club for quite some time and was very complimentary. He had lots of good things to say about Burnley.
He wasn't managing a club at that time and told us he had been employed by UEFA for a few months to oversee various projects for Euro 2016.
Came across as a very genuine bloke.

I like David Moyes, a nice guy.
I wish him well, other than when his sides face Burnley.

A relationship built on mutual respect, finally smashed to pieces.
Both have played their part in our club's sustainability and growth.
A club, in turmoil behind the scenes, is usually propping up the league.
Fingers crossed for positive outcomes all round.

On what basis? Hopefully not prestons home form, Preston have decent away form if they sorted there home form out they’d be in a higher position, Preston blow hot & cold & are no great shakes despite beating reading 3-nil away they are more than capable of losing 3-nil at deepdale against a lower side.Swizzlestick wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 3:13 pmAlex Neil would be the perfect replacement when SD does eventually leave.
Re: David Moyes...
I'd be very surprised if they weren't still interested in Tarky. If they were willing to pay 30-35 million last summer surely they'd be interested if they could get him for half of that? Unless they think it's a done deal he's going to Leicester.

Re: David Moyes...
Claret Tony, what I find unsettling is when you say you were discussing alternative managers to Dyche when he goes with ‘ someone at the club’
I know you have access to information others don’t and you describe the club as in turmoil ,but are you prepared to say who this ‘ someone at the club’ is. It all seems a little strange

Re: David Moyes...
You don’t think getting a squad like Preston’s competing for playoff places is pretty impressive? Especially considering they’ve spent nothing (that will stand him in good stead if Garlick sticks around).Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 3:48 pmOn what basis? Not him the best available out there is EH I can’t think of many others available right now tempered with a sense of realism also so not suggesting poch he’s waiting for Solskjaer to trip up.

Would they , they were 8th when he was sacked and 9 pts off the play offs and had won 7 out of their last 24 games , so I very much doubt it

I have a time share in Lytham and David "nice guy " Moyes has just finished painting the lounge because he is bored rigid with no football this weekend.
Very complimentary about Burnley and told me Dyche is also very good at scrabble and turned down the USA job as he refuses to say soccer unless it is in the context of soccer am. Said Nigel Clough lined up to replace Dyche and a reformed Afghanistan warlord will be buying the club with the proceeds of heroin dealing and kidnapping ransom money, could be worse joked Moysey it might have been the Venkys.
