I don't particularly like both but McCartney's song writing is on a much higher level to Weller. If you get into the music theory behind it all then it is pretty obvious.

2/10 Try to transfer some of your core movement into the shoulder as the rod comes over, and release the line a fraction earlier. That will ensure the splash is reduced significantly, thus increasing your chances.

I met McCartney many times whilst restoring his house in Sussex thirty odd years ago, he was a really pleasant and very down to earth chap, though his wife Linda was as mad as a box of frogs; we spent about £5k of Paul's money making lions smile for her.
To be fair I once met Paul Weller as well and he was nice enough too; he autographed my 'In the City' LP outside Northallerton Community centre, in about 1976 or 77.

I can only admit to meeting McCartney once - I got the same impression of him too. I have to say that I thought similarly about Linda although it was only a brief chat.

Weller's solo stuff has been a touch patchy yes but the best of it is brilliant. The lastest album, On Sunset, is one of his strongest solo albums too. Overall it's a bit of a daft question as both were prodigies and are phenomenal talents really.
