Injuries update updated
Pieters, Bardsley and Stephens all have a potential return on the 23rd November but for Cork it's 14th December. NOTE - Those are potential dates and not confirmed.

Re: Injuries update
First three are bench players so not as important.
Jack Cork is majorly important and we need him back ASAP.

Re: Injuries update
I'll be surprised to see Cork before the new year.
And Beardsley is 59 years old.

Re: Injuries update
He'll rarely get a game when Cork is back. 4th choice central midfielder.

Re: Injuries update
Even at the age of 59 Bardsley would kick the winger before he went past him !!

So unavailable when we need him, great!FactualFrank wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 5:41 pmHe'll rarely get a game when Cork is back. 4th choice central midfielder.
Re: Injuries update
Was signing Stephen's on no doubt a decent wage really necessary? I'd rather we just used Benson as 4th choice if he isn't going out on loan anywhere.

JBG not in the Iceland squad tonight, he isn't injured is he?
Re: Injuries update
According to the BBC, Johan has returned to his club. No reason given, so it could be an injury or it could be an arrangement with Burnley to get him back in time for preparation for the match against Palace.

Re: Injuries update
Could it because of playing in Denmark at the weekend? I don’t know the rules on returning from there.

Re: Injuries update
Mot sure I'd describe Bardsley as a bench player, it can't be coincidence that when he plays we perform at a different tempo, and carry more bite throughout the team, I'd have him in ahead of Lowton when he's available, we badly need battlers in our current plight, and he's definitely up for the fight.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 5:24 pmFirst three are bench players so not as important.

If we can get Cork back for the hectic Xmas schedule when we have some winnable games then great, but he'll need at least a few games to get back to match sharpness, I do agree he's an important cog in our machine, and we've badly missed him this season.

Re: Injuries update
Strange one with them two. SD doesn’t appear to like dropping either, which can’t be a bad thing, but whenever Lowton has been stood down he as usually come back in up for holding onto the jersey.
Re: Injuries update updated
Stephens and Cork ruled out for Monday. Late fitness tests for Pieters, Brady, Gudmundsson and Taylor. Bardsley fit.

Re: Injuries update updated
Might be a godsend that we've been moved to a Monday evening, the extra couple of days may allow a couple to recover in time to make the Palace game, I wouldn't worry if they can't play in the City game come the weekend, that's a write-off anyway, but the Palace game is vital to kickstart our season, and if we can patch up 1 or 2 then so be it.

Re: Injuries update updated
When Cork comes back Brownhill will be shoehorned to right wing. I'd much prefer us to sign a right winger.
I think the issue has generally been outside of Central midfield so not sure really what Cork will change unless we alter the system.
