Congrats to Wales

Post by tiger76 » Wed Nov 18, 2020 10:31 pm

Promoted to the top group in the Nations League, yet another terrific achievement after their heroics in 2016, and their qualification for the Euro's, they really do punch above their weight, also 11 games unbeaten now, that's a great run at any level let alone in international football, and during that run they were bereft of Bale and Ramsey probably their 2 best players,

Thats strange? I thought they were beaten at Wembley the other week?

Sorry forget about that, yes they were, but in the games that matter they are churning out the results, and you can't take too much out of the Wembley game they played a shadow side, and blooded several debutants that night.

Topping a group with Finland, Bulgaria and Rep Of Ire in it is no gimme.

Scored 7 goals in 6 games against them all too.

When is the open-top bus tour taking place to celebrate nothing?

Meanwhile the Jocks throw top place and promotion away as the Czech Republic, including Matej Vydra, overtake them in the final round of matches.

Northern Ireland find themselves relegated to League C, maybe their Euro 20/21 qualifying efforts have distracted them from the Nations League.

and conceded 1. In 6 games.

Finland and Ireland are both ranked above Iceland.
Besides, when have England last had a qualifying group that wasn't full of cupcakes? Anyone supporting England has no locus standi to criticise anybody on the basis of having an easy group.
At least we can go back to our norm of having Belgium in our group now.

I agree, a great achievement for Wales.

We're still doing what we always do - saying how well we will do in the next tournament.

Their players are scared of losing in case Giggs beats the **** out of them.

Being ranked above Iceland doesn't automatically make them a good side, Iceland are awful. England always got an easy group due to their ranking.

Had the group draws not been changed so that dross played dross equally as poor as them then Wales' results would have been like they always are, or do we think Luxembourg have suddenly improved massively due to winning half their group games.
