Oh I dunno "Piper at the gates of dawn" album was 1967 ... but yeah they really hit the heights in the early to mid 70's with "Dark side of the moon" in 73

Re: Pink Floyd
I was at college in 1974 and typical costs for a decent known band was £600 I was told by the organisers. Bands with a name but not chart toppers such as Racing Cars or Stray. I asked about Barclay James Harvest (may favs at the time) but apparently they were too expensive.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 11:57 amSaw them live in February 1971. They came to our college in London, courtesy of a friend of theirs who was on the social committee. Charged £750 and it was £1 to get into the theatre where they played. Speakers around the whole room. £1 then would get 9 pints in the college bar so we made do with about 6 before entering the 'smoky' theatre.
