Re: Derby
They are heading for League 1 at an alarming rate, as for Boro Warnock has got them going big style, and to only concede 6 in 13 games in the tough world of the Championship is some going.
Surely Rooney can't be given the managers gig permanently after their last 2 games they've been dire.

Re: Derby
Boro were doomed b4 he took over
Re: Derby
Rooney perhaps is too big a star to go to Derby with catastrophic results.
The signing of Asprilla cost Newcastle the title, they should have signed him after that season, not half way through.
If Messi came to Burnley, it would be messy.

Re: Derby
Living up this way I have a few Boro supporting mates....they were not best pleased, to say the least, when Warnock was announced but now....they are on cloud 9 after last season....

Re: Derby
Has the Derby takeover gone through? Cannot see why anyone (even someone filthy rich) would buy a club on their way to L1 for £60m!!
Looks like we might be getting the additional £6m for Gibson though.

Re: Derby
The guy Derby needed has ended up at their bitter rivals Forest. I said a few weeks ago on a previous thread that I didn't think for one minute Rooney was the right fit at this juncture. They need someone whose tried and tested managing at Championship level.
Re: Derby
Rooney is typical of the appointments made by rich owners who known little about football. Looking for a big name to put up in lights, rather than an experienced football manager with a solid record of achievement.
Re: Derby
Which was why Warnock was brought in after Woodgate sacking and it then took him a few months, quite rightly, to sort the mess out
