Wow, I don't know what to say. I'd like to thank Mrs Aclaret, my mum, my dad, my dog, Sean Dyche, Redbeard , but most of all Dyched. I'm humbled...NOW COME ON YOU CLARETS.

Congratulations to gawthorpe_view and Aclaret for collecting the points and, of course, to Dyched for a text book Count

I shudder to think what the score would have been without this Count; thanks to our collective efforts we kept the deficit to 5.

Zlatan, the mystical magic powers we invoke are not Godly but, rather, imperfect. They are sensitive, highly charged and, if left to themselves, wildly unpredictable. Thus even the briefest intention on the part of our Officiator to differ from the Hallowed Rules may indeed have had negative effect.

I wonder, besides, whether 'Asheville' was in fact a City agent, intent on sabotage of our Count. After all, he (or she) did not post an Estimate.

However, I would suggest that more damage may have been done by our inexperienced Officiator through his inadvertent inclusion of a gif featuring the opposition manager. Yet I am more to blame than he is, since I laughed at the illustration rather than further publicly correct Dyched, who otherwise was doing a great job.

Rule C21(a) - 'Pictures In Counting Threads' - in fact clearly states that 'no illustration except of the Tin; its contents; relevant utensils and crockery, besides modest decoration in club colours and memorabilia, shall be included anywhere in the Thread'.

We must all bear this in mind in future.

Despite the aforementioned failures, though, it remains true that the final scoreline was only as expected. It could easily have been even worse.

And indeed, the Ritual does not promise constant match victories, but instead gradually enhances match performance and in this way ensures genuine progress toward healthy league positioning.

So it's onward we go. We need a volunteer for December 5, v Everton,

UTC!! :D
