Re: Match Day Thread - Man City v Burnley
Have the rules on foul throws changed or are we just not enforcing them?
Re: Match Day Thread - Man City v Burnley
Pathetic defending
Re: Match Day Thread - Man City v Burnley
Absolutely awful defending again. What are we doing? It's difficult enough against this lot but come on...

Another 5-0 drubbing, if we are lucky
Re: Match Day Thread - Man City v Burnley
Always astounds me how soft the goals we concede to City are. Self-inflicted and weak

Not sure I can be arsed to watch it......
Re: Match Day Thread - Man City v Burnley
Shall we just walk off and accept the 3-0?
Re: Match Day Thread - Man City v Burnley
One word
Pathetic.
I'll bet teams like Brighton, Place, Newcastle...
Basically every other team will give hem a better game.

Re: Match Day Thread - Man City v Burnley
Won’t affect the outcome of the game but how can they take the throw from nowhere near where the ball went out ?

15-1 odds on 5-0. I think they were very good odds and should have gone for it.

Not sure we can complain much. We know they score 5 (at least).

Naive 3 attackers on in a 4-4-2 and a 20 year old starting his first game
Be lucky to get away with a 5 nil today

Partly cloudy, 5 degrees here in SW Ontario, last Sundays 15 cm of snow has disappeared.
As expected it's one traffic at the Ethiad What happened to the days when we could give Citeh a good game?

I'm sure in certain games the players are now being instructed to save their legs for more "winnable" fixtures.

Re: Match Day Thread - Man City v Burnley
Well, for about the tenth time in a row against Man City - it’s not yet half time but to actually enjoy yourself on a weekend you’re better turning the tele off.
I’d genuinely rather these games just didn’t happen and we automatically gave the points and +5 goal difference to Man City, it’s that pointless. We don’t even pretend that we have the desire to attempt to lay a glove on them, whatever the team of formation. I sometimes wonder if the 2-2 draw and 1-0 win over City were actually under Dyche.

Stream stopped so didn’t see the second. What happened?
Re: Match Day Thread - Man City v Burnley
Phew lucky there
Re: Match Day Thread - Man City v Burnley
Ah
Now that we are 2 down and game seemingly lost Dyche reverts to Barnes up front with Wood
Shrewd tactics there Sean

We may as well play a 36 game season and save the legs against City.

Re: Match Day Thread - Man City v Burnley
Ive turned it off. Can't watch us meekly surrender like this. We don't even give them a game. Tactically inept. That first goal summed us up this season. McNeil deep in their half turns round...passes it all the way back to Tarks..suicide pass and the rest is history. Taylor caught out by the negativity of his team mates is caught out of position

Re: Match Day Thread - Man City v Burnley
Strange that we can beat teams who give City a much bigger test.

It’s so weird watching literally every team season after season make it more difficult (most of the time) against them. We genuinely look like we go out knowing we’re going to lose and breathe a sigh of relief when the first goal goes in.

It’s like there’s some ancient hoodoo that petrifies us every year.
We’ve done well at Anfield ... Old Trafford.... and more.
Must be the ghost of Paul Dickov or something.

Re: Match Day Thread - Man City v Burnley
Another game against City where we close down but refuse to put a tackle in.
When Leeds played City they got in their faces and tackled, rattled City but we refuse to do it.

Re: Match Day Thread - Man City v Burnley
WHY do we play backwards?! First pass LOOK FORWARD!
Re: Match Day Thread - Man City v Burnley
I think City could start with Goater up front still and we'd still lose by 5!

It’s strange that we can usually give the other “big” teams a gameFactualFrank wrote: ↑Sat Nov 28, 2020 3:30 pmStrange that we can beat teams who give City a much bigger test.

Re: Match Day Thread - Man City v Burnley
We are the perfect opposition for them. They are faster, stronger, better on the ball, have players who can beat a man and in key areas they are bigger. Other sides can match them in some areas but we can handle them, we can’t live with Citeh. I’m just pleased SD at least tried something different.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Sat Nov 28, 2020 3:30 pmStrange that we can beat teams who give City a much bigger test.

Re: Match Day Thread - Man City v Burnley
City (by their standards) have been struggling for form this season.
Is anyone even remotely surprised that we're the team to make them suddenly look amazing again? We seem to have a serious mental block against City, nine times out of ten, they'd beat us regardless, but we capitulate against them time after time, giving away such basic goals, their second goal a good example.
Against other top sides, we usually at least make them somewhat work for their win, that hasn't been the case against City.
