Citys players are so fluid in their positioning. They’ll swap positions, move the ball as quickly as they can change positions as quickly.

We’re to rigid. Stuck in positions, slow at moving and slow at moving the ball.

It’s like our players only operate on an x or y axis whilst Citys are all over the place.

The best indication of that is McNeil. He’ll pass back often, which is fine if there is nothing on. But there’s nothing on because our players don’t move. The best bit is then McNeil deciding he’ll make a run along the same line as he’s just passed the ball down, thus taking him out of the game. Make yourself an angle to receive the ball.

How about trying vydra for an half, and try to pass the ball forward simple 👍
I'll have a pint of whatever you're on

Dyche doesn't do a Vydra

Tell you what I’d do against City. Play 5 at the back, 4 in midfield, 1 up front. Joke playing 3 strikers.
Yes, should utilize our squad depth... :?

That's as poor a half we have ever played in the Premier league...absolutely shockingly bad....men versus new born babies

He’s playing 3 strikers because JBG not fit enough to start game, J Rod is on the right wing

Vydra JBG and Pieters on Lowton Benson and Barnes off
Lowton gifted the last goal but our non tackling midfield the other two
We need a new right back in January and a ball winning cm

That’s not the completely the joke. After arguably giving the best forward performance of the season, J Rod pushed out wide to do a make shift job is a bit daft. I’d understand if this was Barnes first game back from an injury but it’s not. He’s been garbage this season and no reason for him playing.

Don't tell me that's nothing you haven't noticed before.

I once bumped into him on a train. He's from Bolton, he really doesn't like us. Makes no bones about it.

I hope Garlick is as embarrassed and miserable as I am. Tarks not interested. Lowton totally out of his depth. Taylor getting the run around. Keeper looks in shock. Don’t know why the header was disallowed. Assume offside but didn’t look it. Could be any score unless City declare

If we're gonna go defensive then we might as well have just defended the box like when a team is down to 10 men and gone for 0-0 that way.

2 banks of four, don't leave any space and let them come onto you until the edge of the box. Leave them for crosses out wide, which we'd win every header, and just don't let them get between lines and in spaces to turn and run at you. No point, even with 5 in midfield to pressure them in the middle of the pitch, they are too good and deadly with their passing.

Teams like city and arsenal are much better with the ball than )Liverpool Leicester etc.

So our approach to defend the space and make it difficult is not suited for these kind of games once we are behind especially. Poor poor first goal. And pretty sloppy second too.

Mendy's first City goal, Jesus.

Oh sorry, he's yet to score.

To be fair to Savage he usually speaks favourably towards us, I think he's just calling it as it is.

If we have dollars to spend in January, we really need about five players in to walk into the starting line up. It will be very interesting to see what happens.

For City’s goals we haven’t done the basic defending which you would be disappointed with if you were managing a team of school boys.
Don’t mark a player off a throw in , don’t run with your markers from midfield, don’t play a basic offside when you are last man and give the ball away cheaply in a dangerous position.

The defending is absolutely appalling a total embarrassment and the worst I can remember ever seeing from Burnley , it’s as if they can’t be bothered to concentrate, think or give 100%.

Totally embarrassing

As bad as we are and as good as City are they don’t need to be allowed to take a throw in nearly 10 yards forward from where the ball went out. Our defence was being prepared for a throw in much further up the pitch than it was taken...absolute bs that is.

I’ll add to that the nonsense of a clear foul on Wood being given nothing and the ref blowing for a non existent foul when we do put a cross in the box. Absolute bs from the officials.

I thought similarly. I don't think its that teams have sussed him though. I just feel his inability to use his right foot makes it very difficult for him to distribute the ball effectively in many situations. He can only go one way and often has to go round in a circle to make space for a left footed pass. It's something he needs to work on if he is going to fulfil his fantastic potential.

It becomes a stigma. We're afraid of them more than any other top team.
Frail in possession even more than we usually are.
Playing an unfamiliar system.

Credit to Dyche for trying something different and giving Benson a go though. You may as well.

I've told you a million times not to exaggerate.
