How about he keeps his mouth shut instead of telling everyone how desperate he is to leave and instead learns to pass to his own team mates maybe?

I don’t know why he thinks he’s some ball playing Pirlo type, he’s an absolute donkey with the ball at his feet.

At fault for one goal, but the lack of challenges by our powderpuff midfield didn't do our back four any favours
The constantly drifting inside by our two full backs allowed City to play down the flanks at will leading to three goals.

4th and 5th goals started off with aimless clearances by Tarks as well.

Its Man City away, if anything the last few seasons has told us, it's that regardless of personnel, tactics, formations we usually get a good thumping.

They usually get 4 or 5, they usually deserve 6 or 7.

It was absolutely another free hit where even the most deluded of fans expected nothing.

Just to add, that starting 11, and subsequent bench SHOULD be getting walloped at most grounds in the premier league.
The manager has been asked to work with 1 hand tied behind his back... again

SD is working with about 14 fit senior pros and a couple that cant even really be classed as even premier league players.

Don’t think he will be knocking on Southgates door
any time soon he needs to wake up and don’t pass to the opposition . He just average defender nothing else .
Does not help when your fullbacks mark fresh air making
Everyone else look vulnerable against a top side .

Tarkowski is no longer interested in playing for Burnley and we need to get rid as soon as possible. He seems to think he can’t get in the England team because he plays for Burnley. In reality it’s because when he did appear for England he was s*** in both games. He actually thinks he’s better than he is. He has become toxic. Get Long in and bench Tarks.

If he has no interest in playing for Burnley then he's hardly going to purposely be lazy and put in crap performances.

He wants himself in the shop window to attract as many other clubs as possible.

He’s a good defender but really didn’t understand the need for him or his agent to publicly declare he wants to leave. Those conversations and thoughts should be kept in house. For as poor as his pass was for the first goal I thought he was superb on Monday night against Palace and played well at Brighton.

They should be, but it will ensure he moves in January. Same with Vydra, he has kept his head down but tried to move in the last 3 windows but Dyche won't allow him. So his agents goes public and the fans will put pressure on for their player to be sold.
This thread starting is an example.

That's a good point, keeping his head down and doing the right thing hasn't exactly done Vydra any favours has it. He'd be better doing a Gibson and getting his move, it's a short career and they have to look out for number 1.

I thought Vydra had come out and said he's pleased to have signed a new contract, saying he's happy, gets on well with the players and is going to continue fighting for his place?

He might of, it was his agent on Twitter that said he wants to leave. It can be found in the new contract thread.
He has given a few interviews back in his homeland telling of the moves he had blocked by Burnley.

Tbf I'd be amazed if Vydra was happy. He's probably worked out that under Dyche no matter what he does he'll always be 4th choice. Unless he's like Kevin Long and happy to pick up a good wage and not play.

As said not really how it works as nobody would argue Maguire is better than VVD just because he cost more.

Do I think Maguire is worth £80m ? No - do I think he’s better than Tarks ? Definitely yes and other than a few Burnley fans I’m not sure who else would disagree.

Tarks had a pretty shocking game yesterday but I still think for Burnley he’s a very good player. To us he probably is worth £30m or £40m.
I not so sure he is worth that to another team who might not have to defend as much as us. His distribution is poor and he does not have great pace either. He doesn’t look comfortable coming out with the ball and given his height and strength in the air he is nowhere near as prolific or dangerous as people like Maguire, VVD or even the likes of Zouma, Keane, etc in the opposition box.

With West Ham showing signs of improvement they may be a decent move for him. I don't think he's good enough to play for an established top 6 or 7 side.

Very true he's been fantastic for us. He, Mee and Pope have kept us in contention in many games. That is without much protection from a weak midfield.

I recall the Tarks v Keane thread. He wasn't so bad then.
Regarding his passing, yesterday who was he going to pass too. Fact is this is our weakest team in a long time and its looking like we might pay the price.

Tarkowski is a superb centre half. He might have had a poor game yesterday but it sounds like he wasn’t on his own.

Drop Tarkowski? Bring Long in? Give your heads a wobble.

Pope, Mee and Tarkowski are our Holy Trinity. If we stay up all 3 of them will be a big reason for this.

if we had beaten city there would be no words of criticism at all, no one suggesting he cant be bothered, or can't pass.
it was one game against a team that batter us by the same margin as regular as christmas. give the lad a break.

I've got to say, given the reputation he arrived with from Brentford, I've been less than impressed with Tarkowski's ability on the ball. I think his passing is rank bad at times, playing balls that Ben Mee would get absolute pelters for.

On the other hand though, his actual defending ability has been a revelation on the whole which is probably why he's been such a huge success at Burnley. We value and require good defenders way more than ball playing skills from the back.

I think he'll probably go in January, and I think it might well be best for all concerned if he does after his comments the other week. I certainly don't see him just walking into another side's back four though, unless it's Fulham.

Even though he’s had a relatively poor start to the season, Tarkowski is still an excellent defender, and now his talisman and captain is back alongside him I’d imagine he’ll start to regain last season’s form.

He only said what most of the fans are thinking anyway. He’s as ****** off with the abysmal lack of investment in the first time as we are, and who can blame him?

From many thousands of miles away it would seem to me that the club is in total free fall. When Chairman and Manager don’t get on then it leads to situations like Tarks. Last season he was a giant. This season he just wants away. Others will be the same. If Dyche gets a decent offer he will be gone too. Even Garlick wants out. We are in a mess

Could easily turn that on its head and say a new takeover next month could be a huge boost, with players and manager happy to stay.

Unfair for people to single out Tarkowski yesterday and equally unfair to reference his decision not to sign a new contract as evidence as to why he didn't play well.

There’s some real twisting of the current goings on there.

As FF said, you could just as easily put a more positive spin on things, particularly where the takeover is concerned.

If Tarkowski thinks his career is better suited at a bigger club, that’s not going to change even, if Garlick and Dyche are best mates. Where the Tarkowski situation has more likely caused issue, is between Garlick and Dyche themselves.

Dyche may well be much happier if the new owners are more willing / able to back him in the market.

And they are quite wrong. No way is Maguire twice as good as Tarks... so it should be more like £60m for Tarks, because Maguire IS better, but not by much.

As it is, after what’s been said, we’d be lucky to get £20m now for Tarks.

He, and the rest of the defence, would have performed better yesterday if they had had a midfield in front of them who knew what they were doing, especially helping out by doing their defensive jobs properly. Our current midfield is poor, although I do believe it is partly the manager's tactics, he doesn't seem to believe in playing forward through the midfield of any more.
Regarding Tarks' future, I think he will be gone in January and it might be better for all concerned: he has however been absolutely magnificent for us in a claret shirt and will remain one of my favorite all time central defenders at Turf Moor.

He isn't interested in renewing his contract at Burnley, nothing more, nothing less.

We had 11 players yesterday struggling to match the opposition in physicality, speed of thought and speed of movement. All 11 lost that battle yet none gave up on purpose.

More a case of being outclassed than not interested yesterday. He will continue to play to the best of his ability which like most players can fluctuate.
