I looked at this recently but then my pc decided it needed to reboot and closed the excel I'd been playing with when I was supposed to be listening to a meeting. :-/ If memory serves me right Tarks and Mee have a clean sheet percentage that's around 38%. Tarks and Long and Long and Mee are both closer to 33%. I was going to post it on the Ben Mee is worth 4 points thread because actually, when Tarks and Mee aren't together Ben doesn't fare any better than Tarks when playing alongside Long.

Things appear to be less solid when Kev plays but the truth is you're looking at a much smaller sample of games so just one clean sheet could make all the difference.

Here we go

He's started a total of 54 league games for us of which we have won 11, drawn 21 and lost 22.

Per partner

Shackell - played 18, won 5, drawn 8, lost 5, goals conceded 16, clean sheets 5
Tarkowski - played 22, won 6, drawn 7, lost 9, goals conceded 30, clean sheets 5
Mee - played 10, won 0, drawn 6, lost 4, goals conceded 13, clean sheets 2
Tarkowski & Mee - played 2, won 0, drawn 0, lost 2, goals conceded 4, clean sheets 0
Dunne - played 2, won 0, drawn 0, lost 2, goals conceded 5, clean sheets 0

Shackell - 1.28 points per game, 0.89 goals per game conceded
Tarkowski - 1.14 points per game, 1.36 goals per game conceded
Mee - 0.46 points per game, 1.30 goals per game conceded
Tark/Mee - 0 points per game, 2 goals per game conceded
Dunne - 0 points per game, 2.5 goals per game conceded

All 18 games with Shackell were in the Championship - all games with Tarkowski, Mee & Dunne are in the Premier League.

How did he fare playing alongside John Pender - he must have been with us at the same time ;)

Nobody could wear a headband with the same authority as JP

In fact, if John Pender is still available can he play wide right

Wow. Steve Davis used to call him square head. He may need to review his choice of nickname after seeing that photo.....

I'd still pick Pender over Long.

And as another ex player who has moved into the field of bus driving, he could drive the team bus home after an away game :D
