Funny how nobody remembers Billy Idle. Mind you, he didn't try hard enough.

done some great stuff over the years, a lot of his distinctive sound is due to a brilliant guitarist steve stevens.

Can't stand him... Except one record 'Hot in the City' which I sing to myself going out but not last summer:

'Don't be afraid of the world we made on a hot summer's night'

Generation X never had much credibility among early teen punks in the late 70’s. Billy was far too pretty and to much of a poser. This wasn’t bad ‘though.

Billy and his fellow Generation X members called for the bouncers who ejected me and my mates out of a bar in Douglas I.O.M we were pretty rowdy but not causing any trouble.
We had planned to go and watch them at The Lido the following night but found better entertaiment in the only Casino bar that was open in the UK at the time.

I'd rather have the look & physique of Billy than that scrawny John Lydon

Late 60's early 70's was great as well ..Midnight boat from Liverpool with toilets full of spew so you couldn't get in them.lol Drinking all day and great nights out in the Villiers hotel with groups on every night. Good times indeed. It's a while since I have been now.Shame it's gone downhill.

Great times...Wonderful place in those days...Apart from TT week Douglas is as dead as a door nail...All the old haunts are long gone...Cheap flights to a whole new world these days...Where once the whole of Douglas seafront was uniformly only hotels and b and b’s now are a few struggling b and b’s amongst apartments and a mish mash of odds and sods...Still...Great memories...
