Much better performance from the lads. Mcneil though what the hell was that for an attempt?

Played well, probably a fair result overall and a good game for the neutral to watch I guess, but ironically we don't normally do "fair results" as we have made a PL living out of pinching games we don't necessarily deserve to win and Dwight had the chance to do just that and blew it, sadly. It's also a shame because if we were in a better position I'd say it was a good point against a team going pretty well, but we really needed all 3 tbh.
Re: Burnley v Everton - Match Day Thread
A good performance all things considered but, and I know it gets mentioned often, Dyche’s use of substitutions is so predictable and at times infuriating.

Decent performance, fair result, we need a rb and two central midfielder, we can not retain the ball unfortunately.

Even game overall. We need to be more clinical. Against a better team we'd easily have lost today.

On my current Football Manager game, the news literally 5 minutes ago was that Dyche is sacked and Sam takes over.

Re: Burnley v Everton - Match Day Thread
It's a decent point. We're 4 points bad of what we need to be, but time to pick those up.
Re: Burnley v Everton - Match Day Thread
That result has left me feeling very abject. We will struggle to play better this season but have only come away with one point.
We also appear to be on the wrong end of some of the fine margins and the rub of the green is just not going with us.
Worrying times. Not feeling the positivity.

I hate to think how you felt after the first 6 games.Conroy92 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 3:09 pmThat result has left me feeling very abject. We will struggle to play better this season but have only come away with one point.

Played 4, got 5 points since Mee returned. One was the mandatory defeat vs City. We're improving.

Ha if it continues like this we might need his services and player contacts to get us out of the mire, I wonder what the Americans are thinkingFactualFrank wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 2:56 pmOn my current Football Manager game, the news literally 5 minutes ago was that Dyche is sacked and Sam takes over.

I would love to be on the positivity wagon but I just can't see it. We are in a world where people are expecting Pope to make 2-3 world class saves a week to guarantee us a point. We are toothless up top and our only creative player is suffering his worst patch of form yet. We are slowly getting cut adrift and are now expecting the bottom club's to lose each week to catch them. There's not a lot to be positive about... Long way to go but that result probably hurts more than others because we played well and still could not win. Don't forget this Everton side started like a house on fire but have been on a poor run since with some key players injured. We needed 3 points today.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 3:10 pmI hate to think how you felt after the first 6 games.

Also with us having played 10 and being on 6 points. 5 points every 4 games for the remainder of the season would see us finish with 36 points and probably still relegated. (Yes my glass if half full)

A good first half, fairly decent second. The performances are improving, City aside, but I can't help but feel Everton were well off par today and it's a good opportunity missed. We have to be more clinical. Hopefully go to Arsenal and pick something up there, it's long overdue!. Come on City...

Just a point, there are 28 games left for us to play, therefore, 5 points every 4 games for the remainder of the season would see us finish with 41 points which would be interesting -----my glass is always half full because I can't influence what happens on the field when Burnley are playing so I just enjoy the day.Conroy92 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 3:18 pmI would love to be on the positivity wagon but I just can't see it. Re: Burnley v Everton - Match Day Thread
Blimey! we pick up a useful point against a decent Everton side who have spent big this window, which could have been all 3 with better finishing, and yet some people still aren't happy, the last 4 games have given me a fair amount of confidence that we'll be OK, the defence is improving, and we're starting to look more like our old selves again.
First 6 games with a lot of injuries 1 point and looking poor, the last 4, 1 win, 2 draws and the obligatory defeat at City, where's the positivity? we are well in the scrap, and Fulham lost today so we're only a point adrift of them, with both them and Sheff Utd to play in the coming weeks.
I'm glad SD and the players don't have the mentality some posters on here possess, where's your fighting spirit for goodness sake, there's 28 games left, and we're more than capable of achieving the points total required if we maintain the levels of today's performance. Indeed we should be looking up the table not down.

I get the feeling in previous seasons this was the sort of game we'd usually nick. If we stay up this year it will be very tight I think.

Re: Burnley v Everton - Match Day Thread
It happens over the season, some games you win when you don't play well (Palace) others you play well and lose (Spurs) and today could have gone either way according to the reports I've read, I didn't see or hear the game live as I was at work, but the performance sounds much more encouraging than our opening few games when we were truly dire, I do agree it'll be tight, but we're showing enough to suggest we can finish above Fulham, Sheff Utd & West Brom, and I wouldn't discount a couple of other teams getting drawn into the mix yet, Brighton & Palace could quickly fall into trouble, and remember neither of those sides could score against us, what today showed is at our max we can compete in this league with most teams, the difficulty is doing that week in week out over the course of the season, but I'm a glass half full guy after that spirited display,

Our next six fixtures are:
Arsenal
Villa
Wolves
Leeds
Sheff Utd
Fulham
There is no reason why we can't get some points from those matches.

We've beat Palace and drawn against Brighton and Everton. We'd all take 5 points from those 3 easily.

Please, for once, let's beat the Arse. If everything lines up we're owed about 7 points from this game.
