Westwood and Their Equaliser
Westy's one of my favourite players, but that was very poor from him, dropped like a sack o spuds trying to win a FK, and its basically cost us two points. We've got to be stronger than that.
Defining moment of the game.

Not strong enough in mosts dept for me
Can't tackle, except when he takes a yellow for the team
No height, no pace, poor ball retention and invariably passes sideways or backwards
But, on the positive side, he does take a good corner

Some people have short memories. When he hasn’t been in the team, our record has been incredibly poor

Very short memories - and as poor as he was in the incident we could still have prevented a goal.claretrobo1 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 3:56 pmSome people have short memories. When he hasn’t been in the team, our record has been incredibly poor

That’s bs, he’s consistently been one of our most consistent players since he’s been here.

At last, we've found our new David Jones
People don't see what he does so assume he does nothing

Defining moment of Game McNeil Missing an absolute Sitter to make it 2...1.ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 3:48 pmWesty's one of my favourite players, but that was very poor from him, dropped like a sack o spuds trying to win a FK, and its basically cost us two points. Bears zero resemblance to Westwood during his time here.

Westwood has been fantastic for us. Also McNeil wasn’t the only one to miss a sitter today thought the Wood one was a more defining moment.

Re: Westwood and Their Equaliser
One of the first names on the team sheet for me
Re: Westwood and Their Equaliser
Can't believe people are calling Westwood for the goal, yes he went down easy but come on Ben mee was awful in reading the situation and defending lewin for a tap in total ball watching from the skipper should have been goalside of his man basic bloody defending whoosh out the cross

Re: Westwood and Their Equaliser
Another who constantly does this ,dropping to the ground and staying down hoping for the decision, appalling really . He should be no more than back up. He’s mediocrity impersonified. Yes he’s been ok for us but one for the bench as soon as we can afford a decent quality MF. No doubt people will grumble that he’s some never say die wonder player ...he’s not he’s a steady journeyman and nothing more

Re: Westwood and Their Equaliser
Most other games at this level I still think it would have been given as a foul.

Re: Westwood and Their Equaliser
Statistically one of the best English midfielders of the past few seasons. Outstanding defensively, covers an amazing amount of ground and the hub of all our forward movement. If you don’t think he’s up to it then look at our results when he doesn’t play
He went down easily as will nearly every player in the Premier League today and it was a factor in the goal but we had ample opportunity to clear.

We could. The cross, and afterwards.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 3:58 pmVery short memories - and as poor as he was in the incident we could still have prevented a goal.
Ben let him get away to quickly in the middle, with too much time.

Re: Westwood and Their Equaliser
Reminded me of the foul on Jack Cork v Leicester two seasons ago that led to a goal. Could easily have been a free kick for us today. In any case didn't he lay on the goal for Brady today

Dyche likes to write out the team sheet in alphabetical order (ODC) so he's actually one of the last names on the team sheet!!!

Re: Westwood and Their Equaliser
Said straight away that it wasn't a free kick.
Aside from that, Westwood has been an excellent signing for us. Takes excellent set-pieces, covers a lot of ground and his passing is very good.
I wasn't particularly impressed with Tarks' positioning leading to the goal.
It happens.

Re: Westwood and Their Equaliser
I think you'll see that just before the cross comes in Mee reacts a bit too slow, thus allowing CL in.
Maybe Pope could have stuck an arm out also
FYI: Pope was my MOM and Mee got an 8
