Re: Tyrese Campbell linked
The son of Kevin Campbell, he's not a bad shout right age to develop, or possibly even offer us something different in the 1st team, however he won't come cheap having penned a new contract in January, tying him to Stoke until 2024.
But if we are going to spend in January or indeed the summer, I'd rather we recruited young talent such as him, than waste yet more money on any over 30's who have no resale value.

Very highly rated by Stoke fans and they’re a miserable lot so that says something.
Assuming the source is fairly unreliable though?

Let's be honest the upcoming transfer window is going to be equally as disappointing as the last god knows how many

Re: Tyrese Campbell linked
That wasnt even my intention. it was just a light hearted jokey comment I thought everyone would pick up on.

What he meant to say was that we never sign anyone from Stoke unless they are over 30 yrs old and way past their bestDevils_Advocate wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 11:43 amThat wasnt even my intention. it was just a light hearted jokey comment I thought everyone would pick up on.
Re: Tyrese Campbell linked
Offer them cash plus Vydra? Vydra is a proven goalscorer at that level and still only 28.
Re: Tyrese Campbell linked
Remind them that we gave them good money for Leon Cort and they’ll probably give him to us for free.

Re: Tyrese Campbell linked
So apart from Sam Vokes, Pieters, Bardsley, crouchy and Walters, what have the Romans ever done for us?

The only Campbell we'll ever see is the tin of soup Garlick has to eat before his humble pie.

Re: Tyrese Campbell linked
If funds are still tight in January why not a straight swap deal, Vydra has made clear he wants out, and TBH I can't blame him, he's too good to warm our bench every week, and although he'd be at a lower level at least he'd have more chance of getting regular time on the pitch, him & Vokes should on paper form a good partnership at Championship level, both proven as well and well versed in that division.

I’d take him if he’s anything like names mentioned above or any of our other recent potters legends. Wayne Thomas. Akinbiyi. Giftion. James o Connor. Steve cotterill.

Re: Tyrese Campbell linked
I think this is one we can unlink - looks as if he is out for the season with an injury
Re: Tyrese Campbell linked
His age age pace meant it a very unrealistic link, the injury probably makes it slightly more likely.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 3:43 pmI think this is one we can unlink - looks as if he is out for the season with an injury
