Let's see. This has a familiar feel to it whereby we show an early interest but then usually can't compete. Hopefully this won't be the case this time around.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 10:18 amJason O’Connor has said we are one of the front runners for Jason Knight

Yeah fair enough, but I’m also considering form. They have been on almost the worst run in club history.... I always preferred schalke to their bigger neighbours. Suppose that’s stems from always being the poor neighbour round these parts. Thank God them days are over...claretgoss wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 9:31 amTo be fair they're not halfway through their season yet, and only 4 points off the relegation play-off spot, 6 off staying up automatically.

Moving away from Burnley for a moment I see Sky are reporting that Liverpool have been "offerred" Arsenal's Sokratis .
1. I believe Jurgen Klopp is now comfortable after being slapped after being thought to be having hysterics
2. Who does the offering? I suppose his agent, I can't see even Arsenal having the cheek to pull a stunt like that

Presser starting soon and no signings in site. This can go down as another false UTC rumour.

If this is true about nothing happening does this kill the idea once and for all that you know who is in the know!!
In future I will listen to CT and not any "listen to me, I know what you don't!!" type.
Apologies if they announce a new signing later this afternoon of course.

So if he didn't mention any new transfers and didn't mention Vydra and we have no injuries to speak of - what did he talk about ?

Re: January Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
I am amazed a few seem to have believed him.
Why would we delay a press conference about the next match for a signing ?
Why would anyone believe the source of the rumour, he has been wrong pretty much on everything the last few months and still some believe him. Had a signing been done or medical took place yesterday you can guarantee word would have got out.

I wonder how many UTC posters have been had when their Nigerian cusan didnt actually send them the 1m he had promised, all after giving him their bank details so it could be transferred straight in...
They fall for it every time, and he doesnt even need to try that hard anymore.

Or better still don't believe any rumours unless the club reveals it or CT posts about
Re: January Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
He said transfer would be coming in tomorrow, he stated it as a fact not a rumour.
Just like previously with
Tarky to Leicester - didnt happen
McNeil to Leicester- didnt happen
Jones to Burnley done deal for Jan - didnt happen
On top of all the wild takeover nonesense
However a few have picked up on his success rate of about 1%..

Wow why when something doesn’t happen as mention does it immediately have to be a lie? Can it simply not be that the individual passing the information in was wrong?
Get a grip people don’t believe anything until it is announced. The are certain individuals on here that do deliberately mislead for shits and giggles whilst very annoying they can mostly be ignored. Even the in the know people can get things wrong bare in mind they are providing second hand information so something they have been told. as far as I am aware nobody on here not even CT is close enough to get information direct from the Club. As it happens DJW warned that the information came from someone who isn’t linked to the Club!

Probably best to keep off a transfer rumour thread if you don't like rumours, and just deal in facts when players are announced by official channels.CaptainKirk wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 12:47 pmIf this is true about nothing happening does this kill the idea once and for all that you know who is in the know!!

Listening to CT is wise but he doesn't put any info on here that his sources trust him with, until it's out in the open.

The poster has a history of A: doing this, and B: stating his "rumours" as facts. It's pretty hard not to get it spot on when its a 2 horse race and you back both and swap from one "favourite" to the other until finally nailing your colours to the mast when one finally pulls out ( or up if we continue the horse racing analogy)Winstonswhite wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 1:41 pmIf we’re on about the same poster, did he not get the takeover spot on?
Other than saying we were getting taken over, he got pretty much everything else wrong including dates and times when it was " a done deal " only to find out days later it wasn't.
Stating something is a done deal for it the not to happen ( Tarky, McNeil and Jones ) or something finally happening 2 weeks later isnt exactly ITK is it?
Its smply guessing a time frame and hoping to be correct.

It may not be false, it just might be not being announced today for whatever reason. I am prepared to give the benefit of the doubt for the sake of a few days.

DJW throws a lot of excrement at his walls. Inevitably some of it sticks.
I’m absolutely amazed that anyone falls for his adolescent ramblings. Biggest bullsh1tter in Burnley. Owen Coyle cringes reading his posts.

Although, in all seriousness, pretty depressing that two weeks in to the window we appear to have nothing close ourselves and our most mobile striker looking like a potential exit.

It’s starting to look like some of paces comments are a busted flush already. Funds are available to make things happen quicker. You can almost garuntee we are not going to sign anyone until the last couple of days and it will be a Troy deeney or Jonjoe Kenny type signing.
Oh well there’s always next transfer window

Re: January Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
There isn't a football club in the country going to sell a player to us in the middle of the window unless we pay silly money.
Even if we have a deal in place, the selling club will either be bigger than us so can hold on to see what happens with injuries or if someone else will pay more. Clubs smaller will also hold on hoping someone else will panic and pay more at the end of the window.
Lets say West Ham agreed to buy Tarky for value x, i would be very disappointed if we hadn't rung every major club in europe to see if we could up the price or improve the payment terms and i would keep West Ham hanging on hoping to sweeten the deal.

Re: January Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Alan Pace did say he was keeping MG around to learn from him and get advice on how the club did things until he was up to speed.
MG might be showing him a thorough and in depth way of how to dilly dally about.
I'll not be writing off Alan Pace or singing his praises until
A. Season tickets are announced
B. Until he has had a couple of windows to sort out the mess he's been left
C. If there's a plan in place/identity to how we will look to do things.
Summer 2022 will be a fair time to reflect
