Re: Today’s football
Didn’t think Gayle had that in his locker to send West Brom to defeat when it looked like they might get a good point for themselves. I can’t see them having enough to pull away from the bottom three

Re: Today’s football
I've just turned it on. A derby like that is severely lacking fans.vancouverclaret wrote: ↑Sat Dec 12, 2020 5:58 pmAnyone else falling asleep watching Manchester derby?

Re: Today’s football
Their speed of passing vs our lack of speed of chasing. But it's mandatory - we take it twice per season and crack on.

Re: Today’s football
To be fair though, the Premier League as a whole is nothing like it was in the Wenger-Fergie days. Those days, for me, was a much more entertaining Premier League. It's gone downhill since those days.

Re: Today’s football
I said after our defeat that my biggest disappointment was that City weren't even that good against us, yet still won 5-0 with ease. How many times did they concede possession to us in their own half? The City of a couple of seasons ago would totally dominate the ball. They're a shadow of their former selves.

Re: Today’s football
If we'd just pressed them, got into them a little more. I know we might have been picked off - we were anyway - but it would have been easier on the eye.

Re: Today’s football
Our style of play completely falls into their hands when put against their style of play. Quick passing vs slow pace. Quick thinking vs slow thinking. Pace vs no pace.

Re: Today’s football
Bolton, Leeds, Rovers & West Brom all lose, it's been a decent weekend so far, let's hope that continues tomorrow.
I believe I missed a thrilling Manc derby not, and yet both managers seem happy, surely that can't be first up on MOTD tonight.
Everton-Chelsea will surely provide more excitement, both these teams have been free scoring all season.

Re: Today’s football
Everton hold on for a 1-0 victory, big 3 points for them after a poor run, and a damaging defeat for Lampard and Chelsea.
Strange league this season, Everton looked pretty ordinary last week at the turf, and yet today they go and beat one of the teams in title contention.

Re: Today’s football
Everton looked miles better tonight than they have in recent weeks. As talented as James Rodriguez is is he too much of a luxury player? He only looks interested when he has the ball at his feet.

Re: Today’s football
Ancelotti has said very recently that he didn't sign Rodriguez to defend, so yes he is a luxury player from our point of view but they also signed Allan to do all the dirty work, which he's very good at.

Re: Today’s football
He is but he dropped a big clanger for Brady's goal last week, despite their poor run Everton are still only 4 points off the summit, this just shows how bizarre the league is this year, a mere 8 points separating 1st and 13th, if any of those teams can put a consistent run together they could mount a serious title challenge, it's fantastic for the neutrals too see such a tightly contested PL for once, and different names like Southampton and West Ham sitting high in the table, instead of the usual big six dominating as they have for many years.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 12, 2020 10:08 pmAncelotti has said very recently that he didn't sign Rodriguez to defend, so yes he is a luxury player from our point of view but they also signed Allan to do all the dirty work, which he's very good at.

Apologies if it's been posted elsewhere but Dyche junior aged 17 came on for Northampton yesterday.
