Fantastic Progress
Fantastic effort. And great progress. Both for the season and as a club. Despite arsenal not being the force they were out record there is abysmal. And another hoodoo disposed of by dyche.
We showed exactly tonight and over recent games city aside why everyone outside Burnley thinks there’s no danger for us. Mee and Tarkowski are a huge part of that. With Pope behind them.
The gamesmanship was a big thing and something we’ve rarely benefitted from. We knew they were ill disciplined and naive and took full advantage.
Defended superbly. Rode our luck for sure. And it’s never easy against ten men. Never mind away at arsenal. But we took full advantage.
Even a draw would’ve been decent. But for a second week running we’ve pulled away from those below us and gained ground on those ahead of us.
Felt a win before January would be a timely boost for Dyche and the transfer window. But now we could look for at least one more. Maximum points vs sheff u would be huge.
Fans possibly back soon. New owners. Dyche looking like staying. Two new players would be nice. Dare to dream.
Brilliant end to the weekend.

Re: Fantastic Progress
Well done boys that was superb. A special mention for Robbie Brady though, you've been superb and certainly shut me up. Praying he stays fit and I think we will have enough to survive providing Tarky stays in Jan. UTC!!

Re: Fantastic Progress
8 points from 5 games, 2 of which were City and Arsenal away - and three clean sheets.
Villa, Wolves, Leeds, Sheff U, Fulham coming up next, all possible for decent points returns. Takeover looming going into January window.
Cheers

Re: Fantastic Progress
I don't. I was convinced we were in trouble. City I wrote off - we always do. But up until the Spurs game we were very poor and looked in big trouble. And I was convinced our lack of options and investment along with our off field distractions and in house fall outs would be our demise. And I am the eternal optimist.
At no point did I think we would stay up this season.
But since that Spurs game our performances have been much more Burnley like. And even Brighton to a degree.
As the title, we have made fantastic progress. If we can get to the window out the bottom three, reasons to be even more optimistic.

Re: Fantastic Progress
Sourness the only one
Martin Tyler and Alan Smith were wanting Arsenal to win and Evra was the same at half time

Re: Fantastic Progress
Mee has made a huge difference. Not surprising weve pi ked up 8 points since his return.
1. Steadies nerves and grows confidence from the back out
2 means Tarks can play on the right
3. Improves our distribution from the back
Much much better (City aside where we rather succumbed to the nervy side again)

I'm so fickle I'm ashamed of myself to be honest. I despised football and everything about it four weeks ago, but now I've asked my mum for a pack of panini stickers.

Re: Fantastic Progress
Had to laugh when Pope made a brilliant save......all about Arse missing the chance, but hey ho Billy big balls tv......
I had to go and hide for added time...........couldn’t bear another last seconds dodgy not offside roll into the penalty area penalty equaliser.....
Well done lads.......Christmas has started!!!

Re: Fantastic Progress
The most Important thing to come out of the game is the absolute kick in the teeth that gave to the Fulham players. They battle to a point against Liverpool giving them hope, we take all 3 at the Arsenal.

Even with Mee out, this baffled me. Play your best players in their best position.BabylonClaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 9:30 pmMee has made a huge difference. Not surprising weve pi ked up 8 points since his return.

You’re right, but more than that, Fulham should of claimed (and thought they had) the 3 points. Brighton are now feeling a cold chill as well.Danieljwaterhouse wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 9:43 pmThe most Important thing to come out of the game is the absolute kick in the teeth that gave to the Fulham players. Re: Fantastic Progress
Speaking t a few people recently who have fell out of love with the game.
Thats partly due to our results and partly because we arent there to see them. (along with other priorities). But the minute normality resumes. Both in the real world and in our performances, everyone will be back in love.

Not forgetting that Leeds wont be quite so sure of themselves now!IWOODLOVETT wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 10:24 pmYou’re right, but more than that, Fulham should of claimed (and thought they had) the 3 points. Brighton are now feeling a cold chill as well.
Wouldnt it be nice if after all this time they finally go up and the fans return just in time to watch them go back down!
