Going back to the previous thread, it adds to my view of Roy Keane and Souness as being the best pundits.

Re: Souness
Defo a red in todays money, can be seen from various angles clearly at c 2 mins 20 secs here. a very vigorous hand off to the face to stop Tarky's run, then the Gunner drops to the floor pretending he's somehow been on the receiving end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGkSrVS ... tsFootball
Re: Souness
Best laugh I’ve had in ages watching them two and decent comments from Souness about the club.

And I think Evra said he deserved an oscar for feigning injury !

Generally find him quite arrogant though after the success he’s had can’t begrudge him that.....
Nice to hear tonight though that he wanted to praise Burnley before talking about Gooners.......

Good stuff by Souness. Evra cracks me up, he has no filter. His story about Thierry Henry was quality.

Re: Souness
Souness is hard but fair as a pundit... unlike the player. He like Kean does not suffer fools and says it has he sees it. Always like seeing him in the studio.. and I’m liking Evra very much too, especially his ability to embarrass presenters with his inside ‘revelations’.
Arteta could have shedded a lot of flack if only he’d pointed Burnley are no mugs... if only he could bring himself to give a little credit. That was as comfortable as I’ve seen us for some time... I was even greedily thinking we could be pushing on a little more to give us a relaxed five minutes. Excellent.

Not sure it's political correctness, just making sure that Sky aren't responsible for Henry being Libelled.PaintYorkClaretnBlue wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 10:42 pmSky qualifying it by saying Henry wasn’t there to back up his statement. I hate this over politically correct world!
He said 'crappy pass' last week which I found amusing. Can only be a matter of time until he really puts his foot in it surely.

Amazed he wasn’t more severely reprimanded for his Zaha comments the other week. Great entertainment though.

Oh yes, I did see that. Completely forgot about that. I’d be amazed if he’s still employed by Sky this time next year.
Re: Souness
Yes I agree he's a good pundit. Just to add in his playing days he was everything a midfielder player should be, one of my all time favourites.

Re: Souness
Said it a few times but Souness is one of the best pundits out there. He is insightful, analytical and sometimes cutting, without taking it to the levels of the swivel eyed lunatic Keane. And he speaks from experience. One of the very best midfielders in what was probably the best club side in Europe for a number of years and he made the transition to successful Manager, at least until he joined Rovers.
Re: Souness
2nd big mistake. He saw the grab round the throat from 2 yards snd just gave a yellow. It was Coote in the VAR who suggested he look to upgrade his card.
The 2nd incident should have been a VAR recommending red again. Neither ref nor var seemed to wanted to harm Arsrnal too much.
Re: Souness
Souness v Keane on the pitch would have been interesting!

I have always liked Souness, even when he was Blackburn's manager.
Re: Souness
Evra has absolutely zero filter like you said he’s certainly entertaining. He definitely enjoyed that result last night!

Re: Souness
Love Souness. I started a thread a couple of months ago about him and how classy he is. IF dyche leaves we could do a lot worse than appoint souness tbh I'd be happy with that anyway but obviously that is not instead of Dyche

Re: Souness
Enjoy his analysis because he is not star struck by the top clubs I know I shouldn't but feel a bit unsure when he talks about needing MEN in man to man marking. I understand his point but am surprised others have not remarked on it.

Re: Souness
It may be that his angle to the throat grab minimised the contact therefore it was only worth a yellow for the retaliation from his perspective. He was looking through the melee towards Westwood's right shoulder rather than full on.IanMcL wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 10:31 am2nd big mistake. Just on that Suraclaret. I remember Dave McKay once saying that you never let an opponent know he has hurt you. If you go down, get up immediately, unless you can't!
