50 in the freezer for 5 of us this Christmas. That's almost 10 each.

What's on your list this Christmas meal?

Are you expecting wastage?

If you’re keeping pigs in the freezer, they’ll need blankets

I keep doing the sum, both in my head and on paper, and I'm almost certain it works out at EXACTLY 10 each

Must be tough being on a diet this time of year.

Pigs in blankets is also my favourite part of Christmas dinner. The sausage and bacon ordered from Carol in Rawtenstall market. Sausages boiled prior to blanketing.... drooling already.

There are three things you cannot have too many of at Christmas .... Pigs in Blankets, Roast Potatoes and Cheese, Pineapple & Silverskin Onion on a stick !

Call it my little joke - I've said on here that 50% is almost half.

Have you tried mini chorizo pigs with smoked streaky bacon blankets, the Mrs makes them and they are mmmmmmmmmmmmuy muy sabroso


We used to get them from Morrisons ready made but they have stopped doing them

Criminal that they are sat in the freezer.

I pick up 2lb of chipolatas and 2lb of smoked streaky bacon from Edwards butchers on the 23rd. Fresh and home made is the best way for such a cuisine.

Aldi do a 2 mtr Pig in Blanket roll looks nice

As a "Fat C*** Coronary waiting to happen" it would be all mine

We're having beef stew with dumplings (shouldn't call her that but she's a big girl)

If it's 12 month's worth - absolutely.

My new favourite, after last year, is sprouts roasted in maple syrup, Dijon and garlic with pancetta.

Got to have pigs in blankets too!!

We ordered wild boar pigs in blankets and 500grms of wild boar mince for the stuffing and sausage balls.
Ordered from Wild and Game!

They have some great products!

Love sausages. (good ones mind, not them Richmond rubbish)

Love bacon. Especially smoked.

Put them together and they become evil. Outside of the sausage not cooked and looks awful, inside of the bacon not cooked and looks awful. Taste awful too.... it’s like each of them steals the good bit from the other, but then loses it, never to be found again.

Prime example of something ending up less than the sum of its parts.

Simply put, they are for wrong uns.

Pigs in blankets... or as I call them, the relatives sleeping over.

Not my Mrs's ones, they are crispy on the outside perfectly cooked on the inside, melt in the mouth delicious...



Not only that her Pigs on Blankets are bloody good too

Odd isn’t it, my Mrs does the same with pancakes on pancake day. It’s unlikely id ever order Turkey other than Christmas and I do enjoy it, just doesn’t feel right ordering it

Normally have a pig in blanket with an ordinary chicken roast dinner.

At xmas usually do a full packet worth - 10 or whatever.

Leftover pigs go on the xmas sandwich. Thinly sliced pigs, Turkey, cheese, cranberry, mayo, stuffing,(has to be a baguette or ciabatta) foil wrapped and warmed in the oven to get nice and melty.

I suggest you try. Food of the gawds!

I like mine in the modern 'deconstructed' style. Sausage and bacon on a plate with an egg and/or fries on the side

There used to be a cafe that did flies on the side... everywhere you’d want to eat would call them chips.

I would say if you ate the every week you should have your own medical team standing bye for the coronary, they are good though and great with chicken dinner as well.

We make our own with quality ingredients only from the local butcher, love them

A 2 mtr long Pig in Blanket would make a helluva "Hotdog"

Order some pigs in blankets as a side from Bistro 197 at the weekend...full size sausages, very tasty but I was expecting something I could nibble through as a side... 3 on top of the one already placed on my turkey burger was too much

Remember pigs in blankets are not just for Christmas

I agree, growing up we always had sausages cooked separately, and streaky bacon cooked draped over the Turkey .... and proper chestnut & sausage stuffing, not just Paxo balls ...
