Tim Paine spoils the joy of watching cricket. His continual “well bowled” or “ohhhh” after every single ball. It’s worse that watching the screaming at tennis these days.

Sad to report both day 3 and day 4 have been blighted by allegations of racism, it's not something we want to see in any sport let alone cricket.

On a positive note good to see India calling it out immediately, and also the prompt response from the Australians, and the tough stance their taking against the alleged preparators.

On the match itself Australia heading for a convincing victory, India still need another 300 or so, and only have 7 wickets in the bank.

Not the best few days for Australia’s reputation.

Crowd and players.

Just seen that. I’ve been listen at work to the radio. All you can hear is crap from the Aussies.

Tim Paine is terrible at sledging. He starts stuff, gets a bit back, gets totally rattled, tells people his team mates like him (who is he trying to convince) and loses his concentration. Pretend captain, sledging a bowler who has 4 centuries in test cricket. That’s 4 more centuries than Timmy.

As for Steve Smith, they tried to portray he’s a decent bloke, but a leopard doesn’t change its spots.

The Aussies showing their true colours again, well done to India in claiming a well deserved draw, I honestly thought they'd struggle to bat out the day, but they did so with relative ease.

Sets us up nicely for the series finale at the Gabba, the Aussies haven't lost there since 1988, so if India could pull a result out of the bag it'd be a surprise, but they've shown plenty of resilience on this tour, so I wouldn't count them out.

Australia 274-5 after day 1, a decent recovery after their openers failed again, Labuschagne making the most of being dropped twice to amass yet another test ton, and solid contributions from the middle order has them well placed, but if one of those chances had been taken it could have so different, and India could well rue those mistakes.

India barely able to get a team out now. Got 5 or 6 of their first choice side missing, including Bumrah and Ashwin.

That's true and yet if they had held their catches they might have even bowled the Aussies out on day 1, England can take heart from this, and once again the Australian batting wasn't convincing, if the likes of Archer, Broad and Wood can stay injury free and fire down under next winter, then England will give themselves at least a fighting chance of regaining the Ashes.

No he isn't Australia 369 all out, and it could have been even worse for them, but the last wickets added 54, India well in this game, but you feel they'll need to reach at least parity on 1st innings to stay in the contest.

I believe India’s bowling attack have just 6 test caps between them.

Shows Indias strength in depth i suppose that they've managed to stay competitive. England may get lucky and be facing a second string bowling attack out in India next month, which would make life a bit easier.

What a fightback from India again, they looked dead and buried at 186-6, but they achieved virtual parity on 1st innings thanks to a brilliant 7th wicket stand, and given the weather forecast for the next 2 days they stand a fair chance of getting at least a draw, which is all they need to retain the Border-Gavaskar trophy.

And a drawn series would be some achievement with their injury list, and in Australia it would be even more of a achievement.

India still hanging in there. Pressure on the Aussies to try and score quickly now and bowl India out again. Will be interesting to see which bowlers India can get fit for the England series.

Great win for India. They take the series 1-2.

Chasing 324 on the last day to win is great going. At the Gabba as well, without their main player Kohli.

Been following the India innings all afternoon with a few lads in the office here in Perth, love seeing the Aussies beaten on their home patch, especially at the Gabba where they think they are invincible. Still think they will stuff us in the Ashes, but got to enjoy every defeat for the Australian cricket team.

1988 was the last time they lost at the Gabba. The biggest chase by some distance as well there.

Remarkable come back by India over the last three Test Matches having lost the first by 8 wickets and been dismissed for 36 within that; losing their captain and beset by injuries (and losing the toss/having to bat 4th in last 3 matches).
Their 2nd innings (4th of match) have been hugely impressive: 334/5 in 131 overs to save the 3rd test then 329/7 (97 overs) to win yesterday.

Can India come and win in England this summer? Should be a great series. I'm not holding out much hope for us out there.

Tough to call now with India having 5 or 6 quality quicks. Certainly won’t be preparing green tops for them and can only see 4 nil to the hosts in India

We really need to work out our best XI, or maybe best 14. We have a large number of players currently who have played test cricket, most have done ok but there are probably only five (Root, Stokes, Buttler, Broad and Jimmy - if they pick them both together and maybe Woakes) who are cemented into the team.

There needs to be a few more who are performing well enough consistently for their places to be safe so there is less chopping and changing.

All the top sides are of a similar level I think.

No team is constantly hitting 400 plus scores to stand out. Lots of decent bowling attacks and not so disciplined batsman around.

Like any team, England need the top order to fire then we can compete with any team.

I'd add Crawley to that list, but yes England have a lot of options in both batting and bowling, that's nice to have, but equally working out our best XI is tough, I wouldn't unduly worry about that this year, because due to the hectic schedule there's bound to be some rotation, and obviously the conditions play a major part in selection, for example you'd never omit Jimmy or Woakes in a home series, but their records abroad aren't brilliant in recent times, so that might be when Archer, Broad & Wood will come into the selectors thoughts for the bowling, the batting is equally competitive neither Burns or Sibley have done a lot wrong, however having both opening means the RR will be pretty slow at the start of the innings, now if 0 or 1 wicket falls this isn't so much of an issue, but if 2/3 fall in the first session and England only have 40/50 on the board, that heaps the pressure onto the middle order.

And there's also the issue of fitting both Bairstow & Buttler into the test XI, both are fantastic white ball cricketers, but the 5 day game is a different kettle of fish, and serious questions remain over whether either is even out best WK, and in India a good keeper is vital.

Some tough calls for the selectors to make, but that's what they're paid the big bucks for.

Congrats to India and they've now won back-to-back series in Australia, this shows they're the real deal, and this was achieved with effectively a shadow team, that just makes it even more phenomenal, and they could argue with some justification that they are currently the best test team in the world, it's rare that one of the big boys goes away and wins abroad playing a fellow big boy, this sets India apart in that respect, it's one thing winning at home, it's quite another to pull off a series triumph in Oz, and this success vindicates their strategy of preparing better wickets for the quicks in India.

Where do the Aussies go from here, they've not covered themselves in glory throughout this series either on or off the pitch, and they've got to make changes you'd imagine, Steve Smith back to skipper maybe, perhaps they'd be better focusing on their cricket and not their sledging, their arrogant attitude throughout has grated on many, and it's good to see them eat some humble pie.

Buttler's keeping has been questioned however I thought he was excellent in the first test against Sri Lanka.

He's improved there's no question about that, however he did miss a tough stumping chance in the 2nd innings, and if you drop chances in India you can be made to pay big time, however he's got the gloves right now, so it's up to him to keep them, and unless he drops any dollies then he probably will for this tour at least.

His 150 last summer against Pakistan has definitely helped him, prior to that innings he'd had a few cameos, but often found himself stuck with the tail, once he finally got his chance to construct a true test innings he showed he can adapt his game to this format when required. Now the challenge for him is too produce that on a regular basis for England. It seems when he's playing well with the bat his work behind the stumps improves, confidence will also play a part in that, if you're going out to field with a big 100 to your name, then naturally you'll feel good about yourself, and thus the pressure will be reduced.
