Tonight's footy 23/12/20

Post by tiger76 » Wed Dec 23, 2020 5:35 pm

So the last footy action before the big man comes down the chimney :)

Stoke-Spurs

Everton-Man Utd

That's the last of the EFL Cup quarter finals, you'd expect Spurs to have too much for Stoke, and Jose had named a strong side, including Gareth Bale, Harry Kane and perhaps surprisingly Dele Alli.

As for Stoke Sam starts on the bench.

For those interested there is also 6 SPL games, and both the Old Firm teams are in action.

Arfield on the bench for the Gers.

18 minutes in and Sky finding it very hard to acknowledge Stoke are even on the pitch. So far we have disected much of Moanrinhos career, discussed a fair bit about Kane and generally bigged up Spurs. About what you would expect. Even the crowd noise is mainly Spurs chants.

1-1 with about half an hour to go, this is proving tougher than I expected for Spurs. There might be another shock on the cards here.

3-1 Spurs they should be on easy street now, Vokes has just come on, but he'll be playing in a losing cause I'm afraid.

Team lines from Goodison, Keane starts for the Toffees in a very strong XI, Pickford is benched again, Henderson in goal for Utd and again a very strong XI, who says managers don't care about the LC.

Just noticed on the highlights, Lee Grant on the bench for Utd tonight, that's a blast from the past.

Steven Fletcher came on for Stoke, and Hart was on the bench for Spurs, so he's not even being trusted in the cup games now.

Sudbury 1-2 Wimbledon so it’s Wimbledon away next for Burnley in youth cup.
