I had Barnsley for 1-1 too and they scored in the 4th minute of injury time to make it 2-1 not my bloody day ... on super six only 4 points

Tierney cheating to get Arsenal a penalty. What is the point of having VAR ?

I don't believe for a second that people at VAR are doing anything other than chatting with each other. When they're called upon, they then swivel their chairs around, look at a few replays, give their decision and then get back to their conversation, ham sandwiches and coffee.

Chelsea folding like a cheap deck of cards again, no bottle in that squad at all.
Shame! it was funny watching Arsenal struggle down the bottom for a few weeks.

Let's be fair, it would be impossible for Arsenal to finish bottom half with those players. My 8-year-old nephew could get Arsenal to a top 10 finish.

Sadly yes I think we can rule Arsenal out of the relegation mix now. What the heck Chelsea are playing at heaven knows.

They (Chelsea) really have been indescribably terrible. Makes you think that their prima donnas simply didn’t fancy turning up at Christmas. I mean it has to be a mental/motivation thing.

3-1 Abraham too little too late, if I was more cynical I'd suggest the big 6 helping each other out, but maybe I'm not that cynical.Stalbansclaret wrote: ↑Sat Dec 26, 2020 7:09 pmThey (Chelsea) really have been indescribably terrible. Re: Today's footie 26/12/20
Chelsea won't win anything with this bunch pf players, they don't have the right mentality, fine and dandy when things are going swimmingly, but as soon as they need to roll their sleeves up and battle they don't want to know, no strength of character amongst them, and I'd include the manager in that, remember he couldn't get Derby over the line when it counted, all style and no substance.

Just been undone by an inferior side that happened to play better on the day, it’s that simple it happens! It’ll happen again when they play below par this season no doubt.

Re: Today's footie 26/12/20
He is still learning, but with the amount of cash he's splashed in the summer, the demands will only grow from the fans and owner.
There is still a question mark over whether he can motivate his players on big games, they lost the cup final to Arsenal last season don't forget, and at a club of Chelsea's size you're expected to lift trophies sooner or later.

Decent results today Sheff Utd lost again, and it's looking hopeless for them now, Fulham only got a draw in a game they'd have been hoping to win due to the Saints having a few regulars out, and Newcastle & Palace both lost and both are struggling right now, Arsenal won but I don't think anyone really expects them to be in the bottom group for long.

Sheffield going down before the end of the year has to be good news. Just two more slots up for grabs

Yes it's certainly better having a team cut adrift, as Huddersfield & Norwich have been in recent years, makes surviving slightly easier that's for sure.RalphCoatesComb wrote: ↑Sat Dec 26, 2020 10:07 pmSheffield going down before the end of the year has to be good news. Hopefully we can open up a gap to West Brom as well, already 6 points clear of the Baggies having played a game less, and with some favourable fixtures upcoming we have every chance of widening that gap.

Think Sheffield United have to sack Wilder now and try something new/try to get a reaction from the players. Unless they want to accept relegation and rebuild in the Championship with Wilder.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 26, 2020 10:05 pmDecent results today Sheff Utd lost again, and it's looking hopeless for them now, Fulham only got a draw in a game they'd have been hoping to win due to the Saints having a few regulars out, and Newcastle & Palace both lost and both are struggling right now, Arsenal won but I don't think anyone really expects them to be in the bottom group for long.

And if they take one if the relegation places which before the season began was unthinkable thats a bonus for us because its totally unexpected,West Brom struggling to,Fulham will run out of steam....safe as houses us !

Their chairman had already said that relegation wouldn't affect Wilder's position. All the success cannot be undone by a single relegation. Quite refreshing and obviously trying to follow our way.

After the performances of the Blades last season, their abysmalness this season is a shock.
It goes to show that past form cannot be relied on and the Sean Dyche Way (Hard work, commitment, and dedication) is the only way

Hadn’t realised that. Thought they had a very wealthy foreign owner so assumed the pressure would be on given their current form. Very noble if they stick by him.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Dec 26, 2020 10:23 pmTheir chairman had already said that relegation wouldn't affect Wilder's position. Re: Today's footie 26/12/20
Not sure why you wanted a draw in the Villa/Palace game, we are unlikely to catch Villa, and Palace could easily slump as they've often done in previous seasons, agree on a Chelsea win, but Arsenal aren't really a relegation rival, they're just going through a rough patch, but I can't see them staying down among the strugglers for long, not with the run of fixtures they've got next, in fact it's probably better for us if they beat Brighton, West Brom, Palace & Newcastle. All those 4 teams will be ones that we should be hoping to finish above, not the likes of Arsenal.
Watford won in the late game, so Rovers are now 7 points shy of the top 6, that's good to view.
A win tomorrow and it'll have been a great start to the Xmas schedule for us. And that will give us an excellent building block for the 2nd half of the season, when hopefully we'll push on and climb up the table, as well as enjoying a cup run.

If they do go down, and it's looking likely, I'd say Wilder more than deserves a shot at getting them back up.

Re: Today's footie 26/12/20
Villa were on 22 points, so a draw took them to 23. Not insurmountable if we went on a run, especially as we have them to play on the turf and seem to recall they have some tough games coming up, but agree it’s optimistic.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 26, 2020 10:36 pmNot sure why you wanted a draw in the Villa/Palace game, we are unlikely to catch Villa, and Palace could easily slump as they've often done in previous seasons, agree on a Chelsea win, but Arsenal aren't really a relegation rival, they're just going through a rough patch, but I can't see them staying down among the strugglers for long, not with the run of fixtures they've got next, in fact it's probably better for us if they beat Brighton, West Brom, Palace & Newcastle. Agree re: Arsenal - they’ll end up top half - but a loss today and then wins/draws in that run would’ve been ideal! Never mind, can’t win them all.
Feeling much more comfortable about the Rovers situation now though
