Leeds versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Re: Leeds versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Glad we got to her at 1.0
Definitely still in it despite no fluency or control of the ball. Refereeing is Sunday league standard.

as bad as the ref has been we've done absolutely nothing to deserve anything from that half.

Centre halfs along with Brownhill and Westwood having mares
Leeds should be out of sight by now missed loads of chances
Referee a disgrace though flagging our goal up

The ref is using the “use your left arm only” rule if he’s not sure what to do.

Re: Leeds versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Totally agree re the ref. Absolutely appalling display by him. We weren't very good at all for 25 mins, but we've got better and the disallowed goal is an utter joke and the guy wants deselecting from future PL games on the strength of that alone. Mee looks strangely dodgy today and like there's more mistakes in him for some reason.

Whats the point of VAR when the two key moments in the game are called badly and not overturned? (Just seen that "penalty")

I never criticise refs often it a thankless task and mistakes can easily be made but this refs first half performance really does make me think if he is biased .Having said that I'm relieved we have kept it to 1-0 and an improvement is certainly needed in the 2nd half or this could be a 3-0

Mee having a mare.
Barnes needs to understand that all he's doing atm is winding the ref up against us.

The refs useless, but we can't do owt about that.
We've got to play it cool, use our heads and hopefully get something out of it. We've got better as the game's gone on and we're certainly not out of it.

Re: Leeds versus MIGHTY CLARETS
What a weak starting 11 we have put out, and so many players, including our captain having stinkers. Lucky its only 1-0
Time for SD to earn his corn and change things round a little. Think we will see Jay coming on soon as the front two are very stereo typed today and detached from our play, but then we don't have a winger available. Leeds are actually there for the taking

I know it's mentioned already but 1. They reckon penalty was because Bamford got to the ball first. 2. Because ref blew early VAR couldn't assess the goal. Ref should have played on and even if he didn't VAR should have awarded a penalty to us.

Let's be honest here we are without key wide players. We've done ok i think. Leeds haven't really opened us up too much ex eat for mistakes and without the crap ref we would be well in this.

So just let them score is that what your saying just dont attempt anything ?ClaretCraig wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 12:30 pmYou can't take the ball and man. Take your bleeding claret specs off. It was a penalty. The commentators thought the same. Oh don't tell me they're biased as well! If that was against a burnley player people would be crying. Some people on here must think we're playing with the same rules from 20 years ago.
He didn't take the man his foot was not high and he played the ball well before bamford would have got to it

The point of VAT is that it brings money into.the UK coffers. The point of VAR is that it supports the Refs Union. If VAR wa used as in Rugby League.the decision making would be transparent and Video refs could not collude with on field refs

We’ve got to say something.Jimmymaccer wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 12:51 pmI sense this ref would react rather badly to Dyche having a go.....
Tbf, the PK was marginal. Pope got the ball then player. Not sure what the rules are in that scenario, but certainly the Pickford incident suggests there’s a consistency issue.
Having given that, you have to question why the ref blew so early for Barnes’ goal and then no VAR review for a penalty after he blew!
