It doesn’t matter what he could do or what he couldn’t do the fact remains he is doing what he’s paid to do & making a success of that, the way he’s going he won’t be far off golden boot at the end of the season.Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 2:34 pmHis conversion rate of 30% would suggest the top sides wouldn't touch him. We would never adapt our style to such an extent where we can create enough chances for him to miss that many and not cost us. Even Leeds fans question him, and ask where they could be with a striker with a 60% strike rate.
He's had a solid start, we won't know if he is good enough until we can look back in 2 years time. I think Bamford will be back in the Championship by then. Just a gut feeling, time will tell.

Re: Bamford
Presuming that he plays the rest of the season as it started. I don't think he will, but only time will tell who is right.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 3:53 pmIt doesn’t matter what he could do or what he couldn’t do the fact remains he is doing what he’s paid to do & making a success of that, the way he’s going he won’t be far off golden boot at the end of the season.
I can remember Malcolm Smith coming on loan from Boro, back in the day. Scored 8 I think in not many more games so we signed him. He couldn't hit a barn door afterwards. Theres no denying Bamford has had a good start, but that doesn't mean diddly squat going forward. Leeds are still a new commodity, like Sheff Utd last season. Once teams work them out the chances will be a lot fewer and far between. Let's see how he does then.
Re: Bamford
Let's see how he performs under pressure when the crowd gets on his back.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 3:53 pmIt doesn’t matter what he could do or what he couldn’t do the fact remains he is doing what he’s paid to do & making a success of that, the way he’s going he won’t be far off golden boot at the end of the season.
That seems to be the big criticism in that he goes to pieces when the crowd starts getting at him.

"Nice hair, Patrick" - "Oh Chris, you're so strong!"Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 3:31 pmAlso getting himself in a lot of scoring positions which alongside actually scoring goals is another sign of a good striker. If you need it serving up on a plate for you then you're always gonna have periods where you and the club you play for struggle for goals
Wood and Bamford could be a great strike partnership for both us and Leeds as are both very good players who I think would compliment one another

Doesn’t matter what matters is what’s happening in the present the past & future is irrelevant the past we cannot change & the future we cannot be certain about.

No. I was referring to how his upturn in form has coincided with his playing in empty stadia.
We’ll see how he fares once crowds are back.

What a Wonderful footballer this lad is with his Goals and assists.....could we have bought this Lad?
Re: Bamford
He doesn’t play for us!!! Do we have to have a thread on him every time he scores a goal! Can’t we just talk about Hendrick instead?
