Rather concerning that we have Bankes on VAR.
That turns VAR into something of a lottery.

The fourth official is more of a worry for me.

He doesn't really have much - if any -impact on the game does he?
VAR is your man nowadays.

I share the Bankes concerns but he was the VAR man who gave us the penalty last season at Watford.
Oliver - to be honest there is very little the fourth official does now other than trying to keep the two managers in check and the two tonight are big mates. He's here again next week in the same place for the Fulham game.

If I was Blind Man Oliver, I would be wearing ear defenders tonight and hope that Sean maintains social distancing protocols.

I’m glad Oliver is at the Turf so soon after the Leeds debacle. Hopefully Dyche sits down with him and has a chat!

Nobody can be as bad as Robert Jones, thankfully we've got an experienced head in the middle tonight, for this crucial encounter. So there shouldn't be any early whistling whilst a move is still in progress.

Any change is an improvement
Let's hope VAR is actually turned on tonight
I couldn't believe it was utilised at Leeds with the atrocious decisions on show.

Fair enough.
Anyone know when we last had to call upon the 4th official to "step up" at Turf Moor?

I hope Dyche lets that clown on 4th official duties what he thinks of his performance on Sunday.

There’s poor refereeing and there’s rank incompetence as on sunday.

Usually a very good ref Kavanagh.
Hopefully tonight will be a decent game all around.

Let's hope Oliver doesnt have to step in and officiate, he couldnt get the major decisions right with multiple slow motion replays, from various angles sat in a comfy office.
Banks is also a poor referee.
I do like Kavanagh though, think he is decent.

It’ll have been a while ago. My dad has been called up twice by the PA announcer to be 4th official during the game as I think the linesmen pulled up with injuries. Think one of those was around 2006.nil_desperandum wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 1:36 pmFair enough.

If we never get Robert Jones again, it’ll still be too soon in my book.
