I just hope the fact that Brady is back doesn't stop Brownhill bursting forward like he did at Leeds.
He's overdue a PL goal and I can see him getting one, or maybe two tonight.
2 or 3-0 Clarets, Brownhill and Barnes.

If you’d missed the news and asked fans of each team to guess which side had reported the Covid outbreak today, my money would not be on them picking Sheffield United.

2 keepers on the bench again. Unless BPF has a minor injury issue (unlikely) why not bring Max Thompson along?

We win and they’re absolutely done, in my opinion.
(Most would say they already are but this would fully confirm it really).
If we can get six points from this and Fulham before the probable Covid season pause comes around, that will put us in good stead with the transfer window and new owners in the pipeline.

According to a stat I saw on Sky today he has 37 interceptions, second only to Kante.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 5:24 pmI was astonished to read this week that Brownhill doesn't yet have a Premier League assist let alone a goal.

The striker who got a run out at City post lockdown (Thompson?) seems to have been overtaken in the pecking order as doesn't get chosen. Maybe he's hurt?

Re: Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus SheffU
McNeill is a big loss again. I hope that Wood justifies his selection tonight or he’d be the next name on the substitutes bench for me.
Re: Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus SheffU
This talk of Brownhill's goals and assists record is a total red herring. He's not that sort of player. I've never been astonished to read that Kante, Gueye, Cork et al have very few goals and assists, but as others have said they contribute in other ways like interceptions.
He's doing great.

9 subs. Nick Pope get's injured in first few minutes.... BPF subs for him..... BPF get's sent off on 60 mins.... who goes in goal then?boatshed bill wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 5:22 pm2 keepers on the bench again. Unless BPF has a minor injury issue (unlikely) why not bring Max Thompson along?
Yes, it's an extreme scenario, but there are 9 subs allowed on the bench, so better 2 goalies than someone who will not be in the first 3 picks for outfield subs.
Just my thoughts. It seems a few PL manager/coach are taking this approach.

Re: Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus SheffU
Yes that surprised me as well, he showed with his thunderous strike at Millwall, that he has goals in him, and if he can get off the mark soon, then hopefully that will boast his confidence, and he'll take more pots at the target. For all the talk of our strikers struggling we need the midfielders to chip in now and then, to release the pressure on our front men.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 5:24 pmI was astonished to read this week that Brownhill doesn't yet have a Premier League assist let alone a goal.

Saved a tenner not paying for the Leeds game, which is the equivalent of 20 cans Morrisons cidre

We once played a reserve game at Barnsley. Their goalkeeper was sent off so they immediately brought on the sub keeper who also got himself sent off.Paul Waine wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 5:32 pm9 subs. Just seen the pre match interviews - lot of respect shown between Dyche and Wilder. Also fair okay to Wilder when he confirmed the positive Covid tests but that he wants to play football.

Re: Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus SheffU
Yes credit to Wilder, interview in full here. Hope I'm ok to post this.
Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder on positive coronavirus tests at the club: “It’s impacted us because we have a couple of players missing through illness and we had a player that had to go and get tested this morning.
"We have a couple of injuries as well so it is not ideal but we have to work with what we have got.
“We just notified the relevant authorities that we have had a situation at the club but I want to play, that’s how it is. We were not looking to get anything canned.
“We did the right thing in terms of our response with the Premier League in notifying them and told them the situation regarding the players that are ill and I think four or five backroom staff have tested positive as well. It’s not an ideal situation but we are not in a club of one.
"It is picking up and running through football clubs and I don’t think we will be the first to be affected by it.”

Yes but he's scored in that time, and if Chris Wood had taken his chances, Brady would've had at least 1 or possibly 2 assists this term, are you certain that info is correct, because I'm sure Robbie has been involved in at least one goal this season, but I could be wrong.
