Sheff Utd aren't playing that badly and still can't get the results they need.
That's when you know a club is in trouble.

We are not safe until the maths say we are.

I'm liking the maths over the last 8 games

Really can't see the Blades getting out of it, even at this relatively early stage.
And as long as we don't fill one of the other two, I'll be happy.
42% of the season played with 2 points to show for it.
Dead & buried.

Looking at that table it's great that we've only scored 6 goals yet got 14 points

So do the Baggies have a "bottomless pit of money?"
No, and aren't the owners looking to sell?

1 win in 14 for Brighton now, they are bang in the mix, they do draw a lot, but it's wins that lift you up the table, and until they start turning 1 point into 3 they'll struggle to climb the league.
It's a long time ago, but they won 3 0, away to Leicester, first game of the season. Its hard to see them repeating that now, and where would they be without those 3pts.
Palace got off to a very good start to the season , as did Newcastle, both plummeting on current form.
Addressable but not easy. Palace have had these runs of crap form every season, but always have a run of 6/7 games that keeps their heads above water. I wonder if their good start means they peaked too soon.
It would be nice to see Sheff Utd break their winless run at Brighton on Sunday. It wouldn't save them, but would cause mass panic on the south coast.

Points are based on defence. I liked a comment by Klopp a couple of weeks ago after their 7 - 0 drubbing. of Palace. "In Germany, we say that it's better to win 7 games 1 - 0 than one game 7 - 0"

Brighton are in trouble. The pundits cream over Potter for some reason, but that's 12 home games without a home win for them now
I just can’t work Brighton out, every time I watch them they seem to play good football, but never seem to turn performances into results. It’s like last season at their place when they played us off the park all game, and hendrick nicked a point for us at the end. Sometimes you you just need a bit of Burnley grit to get the job done!

Rubbish. You clearly didn't watch Fulham the last time they were in the Prem other than against us.

They had a hell of a lot more than one good game.
Aye yep sorry you’re right. They were awesome. If it wasn’t for getting relegated they might have won the title they were that good.

Hope Sheffield beat Derby record with wins against WBA, Fulham, Brighton, and Palace

To grossly oversimplify it, a tactic of having 9 men whose job is to lump it into the danger area and 3 men whose job it is to score, is going to yield more success than having 11 men whose job it is to keep the ball in midfield. Brighton spend so much time trying to keep the ball that they forget why they wanted it in the first place.

To reach 36 points:

Sheffield United need 34 in 22 games.
West Brom need 28 in 22 games.
Fulham need 25 in 23 games.
Brighton need 23 in 22 games.
We need 20 in 23 games.

The first two aren't going to happen IMO, and there is every chance the third and fourth won't both happen. In any case, all we need do is look after our own affairs. The side isn't playing all that well as a whole IMO, because the business end (up front) isn't really doing much. But as long as the other business end continues to be outstanding, we will pick up points; and when confidence and goalscoring returns, we'll do even better.

It's December, a lot can happen in Jan, and not just the window, a break for a few weeks can allow injured players to come back plus obviously where managers/owners want to go in terms of Jan spending so I think to early to say who is going down. I think there are at least six teams who will be fighting for their lives come end of March and BFC will not be one of them regardless of the takeover outcome.
