Re: Fulham game in doubt?
I see that Fulham fans are being calm and fair about the situation.
"Yep sounds like we're getting screwed here
If there are any more positive tests we should conceal them. Firstly so the affected players can still play. Secondly to spread the virus to the Burnley players so they have the same problem to deal with next week."

Its a case of containing the virus. If there are no more positive cases to the fulham players an staff after the spurs game then the game will go ahead

Re: Fulham game in doubt?
Looking on that link shown above, their fans are saying the players tested positive will mean they don't have much of a central midfield.
Re: Fulham game in doubt?
If they are without Anguissa that would be excellent, he's a fine player.

Fulham game in doubt?
The biggest problem since the start of this shoite has been the attitude of those who will do what they want rather than do as they're told. That will not alter and this thing will go on longer than it should.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 3:47 pmI’m actually doubtful if the tier differences make any substantial positive effects, the only thing I think that will make a difference is the whole population to be inoculated

That’s nothing new that was always going to happen in the same way we are guaranteed daylight after nighttime, the whole population was never going to abide by all the government rules, by & large I don’t think we’ve done so bad at this point, I’ll still stand by my earlier claim that until we all become inoculated we won’t see a substantial reduction whilst we’ve all got a hole in our backsides.RalphCoatesComb wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 7:02 pmThe biggest problem since the start of this shoite has been the attitude of those who will do what they want rather than do as they're told. What a shame the original covid thread was deleted.
It would be interesting to look back at the comments from 10 months ago.
I think you started that thread and posted a lot of good stuff.
The current situation is very serious and its going to be a very difficult next 3 months and unfortunately tragic for many

True, I’d more rather talk about the impact on the footballing implications, we’ve weathered the worst now the vaccine is slowly being introduced on a prioritised basis & it’ll sort itself out it’ll have to they’ll be no other option. I think the start of next season the crowds will be back on & what we knew as normality will be resumed.paulatky wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 11:23 pmIk

Trouble was people started posting from two accounts, liking each others posts and ganging up on those who didn't agree with them, being abusive etc. Among all that childish behaviour there were some very good, informative discussions.paulatky wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 11:23 pmIk

Re: Fulham game in doubt?
Surely they will get results before they travel, they won’t sit everybody on a coach together if one or two could test positive! That would mean everybody would have to isolate for 10 days if there was one positive. Putting yet more fixtures in jeopardy

Re: Fulham game in doubt?
Reading up on Fulham reporter views on the postponement risk this morning, I cannot fail to sense the hypocrisy of complaining about it being unfair to play games while missing a few players, whilst happily playing home games with crowds whilst others cannot (and getting crucial points in the process).
If we play, it wouldn’t surprise me if we have more first choice players out than they do.

According to sky sports, Fulham still awaiting results of latest test. Also they’re having a training session this morning, which I find strange putting the players at risk before receiving the results.
Re: Fulham game in doubt?
I remember getting slaughtered for suggesting there would be a second wave
Re: Fulham game in doubt?
What I find puzzling is that Man City will have had to go through the same protocols (positive players isolating, subsequent tests of those players found negative) yet their game still goes ahead.
Why is their situation any different to that of Fulham?
Why aren't Man City awaiting results of their latest tests, for example?

Re: Fulham game in doubt?
So their players attend NYE parties and our match gets called off. Utterly disgraceful. Should have been made to play with U21’s!
Re: Fulham game in doubt?
Incredibly frustrating. Is there a case for awarding a result to us if it’s found out their cases have been exacerbated by their players partying/breaking rules?
Re: Fulham game in doubt?
There’s no justice, when the match is played the players that have allegedly transgressed will be available to play. They should be suspended for the fixture!

Re: Fulham game in doubt?
All players who breached covid rules should be suspended when the game is eventually replayed - but of course it won't happen.
(On a positive, we currently have key players injured and maybe we're ready for rest).

Re: Fulham game in doubt?
No complaints from me. It gives us a chance to get our injured players fit again and therefore more chance of beating Fulham when the game is eventually played. Plus, it gives us a chance to get a couple of 'Statement' signings in in the next four weeks to further strengthen the squad.
All round a good decision for us.

Is it guaranteed that we won’t have any injuries by the time we next play them?Gordaleman wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 11:47 amNo complaints from me. Re: Fulham game in doubt?
Of course not, but we would be v unfortunate to have a thinner squad than we have at present, and also I think - in the current circumstances - under siege Fulham would have raised their game and been tough to beat.

Should be game defaulted really, and the same for Man City at Everton, assuming of course it’s proved that those clubs players have broken the law which prevents them from playing.

Re: Fulham game in doubt?
Of course not, but with a couple of additional players likely coming in via transfers, I would have thought it unlikely.
Who knows, depending on when it is played, we might even have fans back to give us a 'Twelth man.'

Re: Fulham game in doubt?
It's not necessarily a bad thing for us that the game is off, however this is now becoming farcical, how many fixtures are going to fall by the wayside due to the dumbness of footballers.
And if the weather hits as expected later in the month, and causes further postponements, then there really will be a fixture backlog to sort out.
The one saving grace is that the decision was made relatively early, and we didn't have the nonsense that Spurs had to endure last week, when it was culled 3 hours before kick off.
From Fulham's POV if we happen to have a stronger line-up in the rearranged game, then that's just their tough luck, learn to control your players for heaven's sake, I thought they were supposed to be professionals, they are handsomely paid, and if they can't understand that this behaviour is unacceptable then they obviously have the brain cells of a flea, even in normal circumstances they shouldn't be going out on the lash a few days before a crucial game, let alone during the national emergency we're all trying to combat right now.
And it's not even young kids involved most of the time, it's been Grealish (Villa captain) & England international, and now apparently Milivojevic (Fulham & Serbian captain), as well as Kyle Walker again, now if they can't set an example to the rest of their squad, as the supposedly senior pros, then what hope have we got.

Reports that 4 Tottenham players broke Yrules by attending a party on NYE.
Some of them are obviously taking the proverbial ****.
The country is heading into a disaster of its own making and PL players think the rules dont apply to them.

Re: Fulham game in doubt?
Not sure how this is better for us? SD seemed to suggest we’d have Dwight, Jay, Vydra back for that game, so really only Charlie out.
They had quite a few first teamers out by all accounts, so surely would massively favour them it being called off?
And the market is open for them as well as us!

But we've seen it happen time and time again that a team under scrutiny and pressure (like Fulham would have been), being resilient and firm, and pulling off a shock result. Overall, I think the time out and rest will do us good. (Especially following the takeover and with the window opening).

Except he wouldn't be selecting both Jay and Vydra, (and probably neither), and you are forgetting Cork and JBG, and that Brady, Bardsley and others are not fully fit).
