Half of me thinks Liverpool and the other half thinks Coventry City. We'll know which in a couple of years. Maybe somewhere in between would be just fine! For now I welcome the endeavour and the faith they are showing by sinking their cash into BFC and wish them well!

Here he is.

So MG and JB have retained a small shareholding?

Welcome to OUR club gentlemen. No stupid gimmicks please like;
Any changes of our name, BUrnley FC. Please no cheerleaders, marching bands, alterations to the game itself such as 39th games Played abroad.
You might own it but it’s our club and always will be.

Big chapter in our history. Thanks CT for keeping us all in the loop. You are the only one thats kept us abreast of the situation, and appreciate your integrity as it became clear you had a degree of info and optimism that you could not divulge.BUT WE COULD READ IN BETWEEN THE LINES. Onwards and upwards.Just pray that SD and Alan Pace get on-that will be a huge positive for us. Be interesting to see what happens to the executives outside of the playing side. I would imagine they will be a lot more accountable than previous

I said all along that anything I posted on it was sincere and what I believed was the case at the time. I expected the deal done a couple of weeks ago but it was hit by a delay which was subsequently resolved. For me now it isn't just about backing Sean Dyche in this next window but building the club. I mentioned yesterday on the other thread in a reply to a concerned poster that I believe they will be very keen on taking the academy further which is very much music to my ears. Other things will change, of that there is no doubt.warksclaret wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 8:41 amBig chapter in our history. Thanks CT for keeping us all in the loop. Pretty embarrassing that the BBC are reporting this before the club.

In total agreement.
The academy is the where we can really turn a profit to sustain our first team. It’s big business now developing players and selling them on/loaning them out. Who knows we could get a few more Dwights and Jays through to the first team too.

Good to hear about the future attention to youth/academy. Let's hope we can unearth the equivalent of a Thomas, O'Neil, Coates and James.

See this as a natural progression for a club in the premiership.
Do we go into each season moaning about transfer windows and lack of players coming in and the constant " we are going down" chants or do we welcome outside investment, embrace the progression and get excited about our future and maybe challenging for honours, who knows.
Lets get this season over with, stay in the premiership and look ahead.
Believe me i am old school but welcome the intent of our new investors.

Just wondering if anyone has informed the manager; wouldn't want him to still be in the dark at his next pre-match conference.

Just wondering Claret Tony if you are still in touch with the Charlton fans, they were so against the Farnel bid. Wonder what their thoughts are our takeover.

Hopefully 1 of things they get sorted is the website. Totally unusable and not user friendly at all.
Re: The wait is over - ALK Capital buy Burnley FC
Congratulations to you all (for those that don't me I am an Everton supporter who appears from time to time on the Money Tree thread). Our experience of a takeover whilst retaining the previous senior executives is not great, but I trust you will not have the same difficulties given how sensibly you have been managed in the past. One observation though, it takes time, more time than you think, for a takeover to alter the fortunes of a club. Good luck for the future!

Interesting that in the interview on Sky Mr Pace refers to the manager as Sean. Presumably using someone's christian name is acceptable in America when referring to someone you have never met or spoken to.
That aside I'm really pleased that this is finally over and hopefully now the club can be rebuilt with everyone's noses pointing in the same direction.

Selling our soul
I’m very concerned about this. I’m not on my own In thinking the club should be run and supported by locals. We only have to look at other clubs to see how foreign investment has ruined the club. As someone from east Lancashire it’s disappointing to see us losing our identity.

Thankfully not everyone is as narrow minded as you.
Re: Selling our soul
I don’t quite get this “losing our identity” phrase.
The club is still in Burnley, supported by people from in and around Burnley. What does it matter if the owner was not born a stones throw from Turf Moor?
OK, so if they come in and we start seeing a load of Yankee Razzmatazz and all that nonsense, it won’t sit comfortably, but at the end of the day, American owners won’t stop Burnley being Burnley. They’ve already made positive noises about the fans and it being a community club.
I’m cautiously optimistic. Would Alan eating pie and peas, drinking a bene n hot and adopting a Burnley accent really make much difference? What is this identity that’s been lost in the space of a few hours?

Re: Selling our soul
I don't care where owners are from as long as they're in it for the long haul, respect our culture and history, and, crucially, have some money behind them.
We can only take Alan Pace at face value at this point - he is saying the right things and presents well. Need to see how he supports Sean.

Re: Selling our soul
Its a risk.
However, to just carry on as we have been doing is not sustainable in the medium to long term, certainly if there was no substantial local investment.
I think we would eventually run out of road and started to slip down the divisions, particularly if /when the current manager leaves.
So l welcome the change, whilst accepting the risks.

I didn't realise Alexander Armstrong was part of the consortium. Hopefully not a sign that the takeover is a Pointless exercise.

Only right that Blackburn claret aires his opinion.
Not long ago I had exactly the same views. In my opinion the club has outgrown Mr Garlick and we are moving on.
