Let's hope he gets sat down with Mr Dyche asap and outlines the journey forward, and the journey starts swiftly and positively.

Welcome Alan, I'm looking forward to where the club goes next.

Think that’s a brilliant interview.

Exactly what you want to hear on every single topic asked.

Exciting times.

A good 1st interview, reassuring that he is in it “for the long run” and “me and my family are looking to move to the local area”. It is a brave move to take over a football club during a pandemic but welcome aboard Mr Pace.
Did your granddad play centre forward for Sheffield United?

Three things struck me from that interview:

1. The words “growth”, “enhancement” and “best practice” - exciting in many senses
2. The lack of questions from the fairly tame and presumably instructed interviewer on the way the takeover is funded and the impact it will have on the accounts going forward.
3. Is Alan Pace secretly Danny Ings’ Dad? Definite resemblance

Is that a Premier League Productions interview than a club production? Seem to recognise the interviewer from the various player interviews that appear nationwide.

Great watch. Sounds great. Welcome to "the Clarets family," Alan Pace and Velocity Sports.

FT reports: ALK Capital has agreed to buy an 84 per cent shareholding in Burnley, which was established as a football club in 1882. A person close to ALK said the deal values the club at more than £200m and that the takeover is being funded by a number of private individuals.

ALK has bought 84% of the club and values the club (84% + 16%) at "more than £200m. Elsewhere it's reported that ALK are paying £170m - which is just over 84% of £200m.

Funded by a number of private individuals - will we get to know who they are?

Exciting times.

Tbf its easy for any slick talking salesman to spout buzzwords they know their audience wants to hear. They'll be judged on their actions, but i'm cautiously optimistic.

It’s not just about that though.

I mean pushing on in the most uncertain time ever in premier league history and still committing to the takeover and investment backs up much of what he says.

Hopefully the start of a radical overhaul of the way we communicate things with the fans. Whilst it’s my understanding that the media team have a limited budget and they make the most of what they have, it feels very small time. Communication from the club has been poor for many years and this is one aspect of the club that can be evolved, to quote Pace, at a pretty rapid rate.

Communication goes both ways. It’s important that the club communicates better with its fans but it’s also important that the views of many are taken on. Whilst undoubtedly being in a pandemic has made things more difficult, the ideas the club have tried in this regard just haven’t worked imo. Time for a fresh start.

Maybe Covid brought the price down so now was the best time to move on the deal.
I'm just saying that was press release 101, I'd have been shocked if he'd said anything different. If the devil himself took the club over the first thing his PR guy would do its do tell him to praise the fans passion

I'm very happy with the situation, very glad we're not the play thing of an oil baron from a country with a questionable human rights record. Hopefully these are sound investors who want to succeed financially through success on the pitch. Very good news.

He said "Y'know" a little too often for my liking, but the thing that pleased me was that he never said "If I'm honest" or one of its many variants. I'm tempted to assume that he's always honest.
I'm looking forward to the next several months.

Americans usually talk well in these kind of contexts.
It’s interesting that he places so much value on the continuity of the coaching staff and even mentions being impressed with our style of play. Also seems genuine that no talks have yet taken place with Dyche. I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking Dyche is coming towards a crossroads of his career and will take some convincing to once again commit himself longer term to Burnley. Whether this will be a priority for the new owners is the key to how genuine and realistic they are about truly progressing the club.

I'd have more concerns of him understanding my accent then me understanding his. What did anyone expect, a broad Burnley accent?

Seems decent enough though don’t be fooled by the folksy bullshine ,this is a hard nosed corporate investment . I’m highly optimistic though and providing we keep that individuality and uniqueness and don’t turn into a “ kick the ball harder “ franchise I’m all in .

I think that’s a big thing. That’s one of probably many reasons why they’ve looked at us rather than a basket case similar to Watford.

The continuity and constant progress we have made will make things much easier than they could’ve been.

A decent interview, saying the right things on the back of some half decent, if not probing questions.

The devil is in the detail and we’ve not been given any of that, as would be expected at such an early stage, but I look forward to some ‘meat on the bones’.

I though he came across well but I expected nothing less.

He has a Twitter account, a step in the right direction in terms of communication and I’m sure he can gather feedback from there. Providing he doesn’t use social media to slag off the manager like the Fulham owners.

Seems a grounded sort of chap and makes the right noises...good that he is looking to live in the area with his family( Cheshire or Ribble Valley I expect) but a positive step.

I like the use of “Claret family” (excepting the missing “s”); it shows they understand where they need to be pitching with a club of our size located in a small town with a strong sense of identity.

The thing that's missing from all these comments is the fact that Mike Garlick seems to have found the right sort of investors to take the club forward.

Mike has had so much criticism from some people on these threads, yet without him and the board, we would probably be in League 1 or 2 by now.

So much for the idea that he would sell to just 'Anybody' to make a fortune for himself.

Thank you so much Mike for taking good care of our club.

A good starting interview. Saying the right things. Not bothered about the accent at all. Now it's time for actions. 1st action is to meet with Sean Dyche and have a open and frank meeting about where we are now, why we are in this position and the way forward. Looking forward to this new chapter.
