Brighton play good football

Post by Newcastleclaret93 » Sat Jan 02, 2021 6:10 pm

Has to be one of the biggest myths of the premier league era. They pass it around the back three and then fire it long. If Burnley had put in a performance like this so far we would be getting slated.

Absolutely, I don't get the praise that Brighton and Potter get.

Brightons centre backs are League 1 compared to ours.

Brighton are doomed if they continue like this.

Potter will be sacked soon

Stewards
Leeds
Brighton

Despise them with a passion you'd all struggle to imagine.

I just don’t get why they are praised for there play.

That first half was absolutely shocking. To be fair when your start 4 CBs I guess you can’t expect much.

Funny thing is, prior to Potter they played a back four with Dunk and Duffy in the middle, who were generally viewed as one of the better defensive partnerships in the division. He got rid of Duffy and went to a back three which doesn’t seem to be working for them. That said, I heard a stat on the radio today which said that they had the highest expected goals of the bottom half sides but clearly had a problem converting chances. So maybe a problem at both ends.

More significantly, I'm not sure they have the stomach for a relegation fight.

Duffy came on as a late sub for Celtic in today’s Old Firm Game. Could have had a red card. Proper Carthorse. Absolutely useless.

Can’t believe that Brighton’s “4th” was disallowed?? Guess everyone gets bad decisions

Duffy's been a terrible signing for Celtic, and it's the sort of signing that could get a manager the sack. And in Lennon's case it probably will.

Having seen him struggling in the SPL, I'm not :o Brighton got rid of him, however the worry for them is that they haven't replaced him adequately,

Funny how Duffy and Dink were an excellent combination and yet Duffy alone is poor.

Agree re Potter and Brighton. Relegation fodder. Chris Hughton will be chuckling.
