Post by Untinted Glasses » Sat Jan 02, 2021 8:45 pm

As a neutral , ie tinted glasses off. What would your table look like based on the football you’d like to watch ?

Mine is like this

Aston Villa
Man united
Liverpool
Leeds United
Leicester City
Manchester City
Southampton
Tottenham Hotspur
Chelsea
Everton
Crystal Palace
West Ham United
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Sheffield
Newcastle
Arsenal
West Brom
Fulham
Brighton
Burnley

There’s a few sides in the league I believe are on par with us for football, they’re not getting the results like we do though. I’m not sure we are the worst to watch, we certainly can be at times but I can’t watch anybody else, I don’t enjoy watching football anymore unless it’s us or amateur football

Stupid thread really.

I though it was going to be.... what would your (Premier) league look like if it had the clubs in that you'd want.

Here's mine anyway.....

Burnley
Bar Stewards
Blackpool
Bolton
Everton
Stoke
Villa
Brum
Newcastle
Sunderland
Sheff Weds
Sheff Utd
Portsmouth
Wolves
West Brom
Ipswich
Derby
Forest
Huddersfield
Preston

Lovely league.

probably not so far off what I would say - interesting that Villa are at your top, but for a dodgy goaline technology error they would be in the Championship !! They got so lucky

Probably because of Grealish, class to watch.

As for Claret tony , you should welcome people trying to make an effort to the board . Your so distant with new posters it’s unhealthy.

Relax and realise people have their own thoughts. It’s not a dig at all. It’s a genuine question that I’m interested in genuine replies .

If I was a mod I would have deleted “ it’s a dig” comment but no , chief moderator actually “likes” it

The board is just one big clique with old funny duddies.

I posted the other day with a selection of players that we could improve our first team with for under 20 million .. post deleted . Yet today the “clique” mention the same players , to a round of “ slap on the backs”

If your going to moderate realise there are people trying to make an effort

No actually my reply was before I so that . Some one took my post as a dig , tony “liked” his comment

Why is it a dig ? It’s an alternate question

A bit different from the boring serious stuff

It’s just light hearted, even so the typical bullying tactics and made to feel **** comments like “stupid thread”. It’s just unbelievable

It's a stupid thread because you are asking Burnley fans - what would your league look like based on the football you'd like to watch. You can't do untinted if you've been a fan (of any club) for more than 5 minutes and you're up to your neck in that club.

Most 'Burnley fans' want to watch the football that Burnley play, hence the 'Burnley fans' bit.

You put Burnley at the bottom, and that's why you aren't being taken seriously.

If you start a thread asking say..... which other teams in the Premier League do you like watching for their football, you may get somewhere.

But your actually telling me what to write ? I don’t actually take it as serious as some it seems yet I support Burnley more than most. Pains me to lose, love winning even with **** football , it doesn’t bother me.

I used to work with a man united season ticket holder, loved football violence, used to tell me all sorts of tales and I just thought wow “ it’s just a game”. It’s my out look on it that perhaps you can’t understand.
The clique is real though.

I’ve played sport , captained Lancashire league first elevens, played at Burnley school of excellence , in the town teams played against the likes of both Mullins , Chris Casper , dean store . Got my coaching badges and Coached Burnley junior cricket yet people who have probably never played sport are quick to put ya down . Probably the same people I sat next to down turf who constantly abused glen little calling him ****. Clueless

I've always thought of them as similar to us, club and fan wise (not history though).

And of course it would give you and your Armada somewhere to dock for a match Redbeard.

You created a league table of teams that you’d like to watch in the Premier League, with Burnley at the foot of the table.

Perhaps, a better approach might have been to ask who people would enjoy watching, based on their style of play, so far this season?

English has always evolved – that’s what it means to be a living language – and now the internet plays a pivotal role in driving this evolution. It’s where we talk most freely and naturally, and where we generally pay little heed to whether or not our grammar is “correct”.
Should we be concerned that, as a consequence, English is deteriorating? it is changing at such a fast pace that older generations can’t keep up

It's not bad grammar. It's just plain wrong. "Your" is one word. "You're" is two different ones joined up.

As a neutral , ie tinted glasses off. What would your table look like based on the football you’d like to watch ?

Mine is like this

Aston Villa
Man united
Liverpool
Leeds United
Leicester City
Manchester City
Southampton
Tottenham Hotspur
Chelsea
Everton
Crystal Palace
West Ham United
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Sheffield
Newcastle
Arsenal
West Brom
Fulham
Brighton
Burnley
That's just a starting position. If everybody had top vision including referees, and we then had a point deducted retrospectively for each bit of diving/simulation, then the top would look something like:-

Burnley (ashley has been out most of the season)
West brom
Everton
Southampton
Sheffield united
Norwich

And the bottom

Leeds
Wolves
Man United.
Arsenal

Liverpool, Palace and villa aren't in the Premier league this year as they had a combined 622 points deducted last year and went down.

Man City - find this lot so incredibly dull.

Seems like a thinly veiled dig at our style as opposed to anything else.
nonsense, it's a thread that's actually more about what people like to see and is actually footy related - seems unnecessary to turn it into something it clearly isn't intended to be imho, not everything and everyone has an agenda

I don't watch enough other teams, but if I did I'd put Burnley top to watch in defence and close to bottom in attack. I'm amazed by how we defend, but also amazed how inept we look in attack.

Of course there are exceptions, we looked pretty good attacking at Leeds and Palace recently but that's just 90 mins of football. I'm looking forward to us working on attacking teams better and hopefully scoring more goals if we can get some new faces in.

I think we are a couple of good pacey players away from being a total nightmare to play against for most teams

Correct. A thread designed just to create attention and controversy. Nothing else.

Yup, we've always been a team who relies a lot on individuals when going forward and we need to get a bit less predicable. At the same time though it's hard to find players with more pace who also work hard in defence. But even so, having someone rubbish in defence just to bring on when we're chasing a game would really help. A bit like Traore at Wolves.

As I’ve got older I’ve become less snobby about the type of football I allow the media to tell me I’m supposed to prefer.

I watch a match and admire two strategies on show. Sometimes they’re alike, which I actually find a bit boring at times, and sometimes they’re wildly different, such as when Burnley play a team in the top 6. I prefer a more gung-ho, with quality, Liverpool over the yawn fest but supposedly “beautiful” Man City, for example.

If you take off the tinted specs the media tell you to wear you might find it more interesting just seeing which strategy in play wins out. It is about winning a game after all.

I’m not telling you that you have to change, it’s up to you. I’ve just noticed a change in my own perceptions.

I was having a think about this and I guess it’s like any sport, take cricket for example.. Boycott could tap around for 2-3 days and score a hundred, some thought it was fantastic and I agree but a lot also think it’s boring to watch. You can now have someone like Stokes who can score 100 in a session and again this is unbelievable but some prefer one to the other

That’s exactly right, so isn’t that a good forum post ?

I think what some are missing I said watching as a ‘neutral’. Don’t be so touchy about reality
