Re: Joeys Gone
Strange if he's gone off his own back, unless he's got another job lined up, he's done a decent job there play-offs last season, 10th this season in touching distance of the play-offs, and on a 4 match unbeaten run.
It's the immediate effect wording which raises my suspicions that something dramatic has occurred, because from a footballing POV there doesn't appear an obvious reason for them to part company.

Re: Joeys Gone
Claretonthecoast hits the nail on the head one bust up too many and there have been a number in the last 12 months. Just ask Jimmy Dunne. The latest one involved Ched Evans.
Embarrassing statement from Fleetwood though.

You have to wonder how much of a Pleb Ched Evans was being for Joey to disapprove of his behaviour.

Not the first time Pilley has sacked an ex-Claret when things seemed OK - in fact not even the second time

Re: Joeys Gone
Just finished reading his book, I like some of his ways of thinking and the ‘kaizen’ stuff but it was a strange read if he was trying to convince everyone he’s sometimes misunderstood.
He’s a winner though so I can see why he has had success

Re: Joeys Gone
He’s done wonders imo . Getting ANYONE to play for Fleetwood from the lowest academy ages up is an ongoing problem for them . They have more recruitment events and trials than any club I’ve ever known .
I’ve no idea what’s gone on but you gotta remember it’s Joey Barton so everything is a “bust up” . Can you imagine how many “ bust ups” SD has had ?

Poundshop Roy Keane destined to end up on Talkshite Radio. Just cos he was a fantastic player for us in that promotion season doesn't change the fact he's an odious individual

City fans loved him too, as did Newcastle and QPR fans (Rangers not so much), but I think it shows he has a problem with his public image which I don't think he'll ever to be able to shake off. The only time Joey went all... Joey for us, was against Lincoln to be fair.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 7:25 pmPoundshop Roy Keane destined to end up on Talkshite Radio. It would seem that he was loved at every club he played for (obviously bar Rangers) so I'd say he did some things right over his career

To be fair he was clobbered most games he played for us. I can’t recall him ever reacting apart from that one, even against Rovers.Billy Balfour wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 8:27 pmHe was persistently clobbered in that game and ended up giving a bit back.
He let himself down against Lincoln though.

I admired the way he reacted to being hit by a bottle from our crowd. If he had over reacted, that could have had serious repercussions for us.

Re: Joey Barton - out of a job
Why not? What's the point of splitting comments etc on a topic. Usually CT picks this up and merges threads but he's presumably missed this one.
PS - You'd no need to post either then.

I care. What's the point of the board having duplicate threads? I know that he obviously didn't know, that's why I let him know. I wasn't criticising him! Chill.Wellsy1882 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 9:44 amBut who actually cares

Re: Joey Barton - out of a job
Nah jus pointless posts undermining people
Re: Joeys Gone
My neighbour’s lad will be disappointed by this. Was only chatting to his Dad a couple of days ago and he said his boy would like to go back to Fleetwood on loan. Strange decision but you do get the impression that anything Joey does will end badly.
Re: Joey Barton - out of a job
Who’s being undermined! And why are you getting upset on behalf of someone else (who doesn't seem to actually be upset!) ? Chill.

That’s a very classy statement from Joey.

Joey Barton tops the betting to become the next Sheffield Wednesday manager following his controversial exit from Fleetwood Town.
Unfortunate turn of phrase!

Hmm! interesting development, Sheff Wed are a big club, however they are also in grave danger of becoming the next Sunderland, and if I were Joey I'd give it a long think before jumping into the Hillsborough hot seat.
