If a club was to buy Harry Kane..
Would they also need to buy Son Heung-Min to ensure they get the best out of Kane, or would he still be as effective without him?

Kane scores plenty of goals for England without Son.

Re: If a club was to buy Harry Kane..
Good question Kane will score goals wherever he goes, however it can't be denied that his partnership with Son has improved both of them, and Spurs would find it incredibly difficult to replace either if one decided to move.
Kane's overall game has massively improved this season and last, if he doesn't score he usually assists now, which in the past wasn't always the case.
How much the pair would cost is tough to gauge, but I'd wager you wouldn't get much change out of £300m, and that's possibly being conservative.

Does anyone else think Kane says to himself on the pitch “on me head Son”

Personally I’d take Son before Kane. Think he is far harder for them to replace, good as Kane is.

£300m isn't bad though if their form was to carry on and they fired a team to multiple league titles and European success.tiger76 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 10:04 pmGood question Kane will score goals wherever he goes, however it can't be denied that his partnership with Son has improved both of them, and Spurs would find it incredibly difficult to replace either if one decided to move.

I think it would be money better spent buying those two than Messi for example.
Re: If a club was to buy Harry Kane..
I’m going to get shot down here, but I don’t think Harry Kane is a good ‘footballer’, per se.
He’s a terrific goal scorer, mind, but I really don’t
enjoy watching him play.

Kane is 27, and Son is 28, so absolutely they'd both represent better value than Messi, who great as he is isn't getting any younger.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 10:25 pm£300m isn't bad though if their form was to carry on and they fired a team to multiple league titles and European success.

I used to agree with you. Thought he was overrated. And greedy. But he has matured and improved so much, I think Son is better, but Kane had easily become world class now
Re: If a club was to buy Harry Kane..
Hey Pacey my mate if you’re lurking about. GodIsADeeJay81 is a bit shy about these things but what he means is if we can only afford Harry in January will we get through until the summer until we get Sonny in as well.

Kane has become an outstanding footballer. Always finds space, wonderful passer of a ball and a goal machine.

Re: If a club was to buy Harry Kane..
You got to also factor in that Kane gets an absolute battering from the centre backs who are all over him. The amount of times I see defenders coming over the top of him it surprises me how little protection he gets from the refs.
That said he's a big strong lad and manages to hold them off and keep control of the ball most of the time

I’ve been impressed with the defensive work both Son and Kane do as well. They often are found inside their own 18 yard box helping out.

In your opinion.
In my opinion there are literally dozens of better footballers than him. His own team have at least two players that are better footballers.
He’s probably the best goal scorer, though, although Vardy gives him a good run for his money.

Re: If a club was to buy Harry Kane..
Well yes, it is my opinion, but you can’t be serious by saying that Harry Kane is not a good footballer.
I presume that you think that Son is one of the better players at Spurs, but who is the other?
Kane is probably the first name on Spurs’ team sheet, he’s definitely the first name on England’s team sheet. He would get into almost every side in world football. To suggest he isn’t a good footballer is just ridiculous.
Re: If a club was to buy Harry Kane..
I think that both Son and Gareth Bale are better footballers than Kane. Not necessarily as effective (although you can’t really argue about Bale’s credentials) but better players nonetheless.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 10:00 pmWell yes, it is my opinion, but you can’t be serious by saying that Harry Kane is not a good footballer.

You’re probably right that Harry Kane would get into most teams in the world, though, because he is very effective and is guaranteed to score goals. I just don’t enjoy watching him.

Re: If a club was to buy Harry Kane..
Fair enough. I think I get what you're saying, but goalscoring ability and effectiveness are integral parts of being a good footballer. Kane is currently a better footballer than Bale, which is why he plays whenever he is fit and Bale sits on the bench.BurnleyFC wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 10:17 pmI think that both Son and Gareth Bale are better footballers than Kane. See, I love watching Kane, especially now he’s dripping deeper and creating chances for fun.
Re: If a club was to buy Harry Kane..
It’s a strange one with Bale. I’m convinced there’s still a world class footballer in there because he still has all the physical attributes, but he really hasn’t featured or contributed anywhere near enough this season.
Whether that’s down to a lack of fitness, a lack of desire or Mourinho is anybody’s guess.

I think with Bale he's just so out of condition, he's picking up niggly strains like players do when they return from injury and he was injured when they signed him.BurnleyFC wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 10:31 pmIt’s a strange one with Bale. That's why he's not really starting games.

This would have been last years Harry Kane? This season he’s dropping off into the void, drifting left, right, creating assists, almost impossible to track.....”just” a goal scorer?BurnleyFC wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 10:17 pmI think that both Son and Gareth Bale are better footballers than Kane. There’s a lot of nonsense on here written on this board at times but you have someone who has scored 153 prem goals in 226 games being described as not a good footballer per se....
This season he has 10 goals and 11 assists already...
If you think he is not a good footballer per se or don’t enjoy watching him you need to find another sport to enjoy watching tbh

I think there was an issue in the season Leicester won the title in that Kane is a greedy bugger and had he more awareness of his teammates, rather than always trying to score, Spurs would have got more points, and ultimately won the league.Hibsclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 12:19 pmThere’s a lot of nonsense on here written on this board at times but you have someone who has scored 153 prem goals in 226 games being described as not a good footballer per se....

Re: If a club was to buy Harry Kane..
He only scored 25 goals that season and only 1 assist...he has definitely improved in his assists based on how he plays in the new system...very harsh to blame him for a season’s failure when Leicester won at a canter...he wasn’t one of the numptys that got sent off at Chelsea when they needed to win for example so there were a lot of other players more responsible on Spurs failing (again) than their best player tbh
