It really is a sad reflection on society when you look at some of the responses on social media to the vaccination comments.

I see his point.
However does anyone believe the money saved if they stopped vaccinating players (they won’t) would go to the NHS?
Edit Testing not vaccinating

I think you need to edit that comment.Bordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 10:49 amI see his point.

Testing instead of ‘vaccinating’?

Social Media is just a place for people with low IQ's to offer their opinion thinking that it makes them important and their views are important. Sadly, theres a lot of people like this on social media.PremierLeagueClass wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 10:46 amIt really is a sad reflection on society when you look at some of the responses on social media to the vaccination comments.

Re: SD press conference at 4pm
I don't like the idea at all of footballers jumping the queue, but the alternative might be that the season ends.
Now that wouldn't really worry me, as I don't really like watching in football on the TV, and have only watched about half of Burnley's games and NONE others.
However, for tens if not hundreds of thousands of vulnerable people, watching football is just about the only thing keeping them going during lockdown.
It could be argued that by vaccinating a relatively small number of footballers it has an unquantifiable but incredibly positive impact on lonely people's mental health and well-being.
Keeping PL football going till Easter really is a lifeline for many, and I believe that it will save lives. (Suicide rates and the pressure on mental health services are a big issue, and need to be weighed up).
So I'm torn on the issue. I'm really concerned that fit young footballers could be prioritised, but if it saves lives and helps protect the NHS, then I think it's a discussion worth having.

Completely agree, however some people like to think they are more important than others.

2 sides of the same coin but ultimately yes Zlatan. Personally, I can never be arsed wasting energy arguing with strangers on public FB pages but hey ho.

There are 7 categories of vulnerable people. It is hoped, although probably unrealistic, that the first dose will be given to the first 4 categories by mid February. Vaccinating with both doses to all 7 categories won’t happen before the season finishes so Dyche’s statement, although well meaning, is totally impractical as well as insensitive.

Even if it were to save hundreds of lives?Reckoner wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 1:46 pmThere are 7 categories of vulnerable people. As I posted above, it's not clear cut.
There's always a balance to be struck during lockdowns between the risk of the virus itself and its impact on people's mental health, and if the season is curtailed (say next week) and we remain "locked down for another few months, then the impact on some people's lives may be enough to push some vulnerable and lonely people over the edge.
I don't necessarily agree with him 100%, but I don't totally dismiss the idea or the logic of it either.
