Re: Derek
I think he stood out in a pre season friendly v Chesterfield and we signed him. He kept Lowton out the team for a while, who had picked up an injury. I think he was full of endeavour and quite an athlete but susceptible to a mistake. Lowton got back in and proved to be a more polished full back, and Derek never got back in

Re: Derek
All he did though was pass sideways. He would tackle and immediately look to the keeper. And he wasn't good enough as a midfielder. I think we got it spot on with letting him go.warksclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 6:56 pmI think he stood out in a pre season friendly v Chesterfield and we signed him. Re: Derek
Was he our first Post Trippier right back?
I think he set up Vokes away at Leeds in a 1-1 first game of season job?

Re: ARTICLE: Darikwa departs Forest for Wigan
Probably his level but deserves the chance after a nasty injury, good luck to him.

He was class in div 1 with Chesterfield. Him, clucas and morsy looked as though they were playing at too low a level.

Re: ARTICLE: Darikwa departs Forest for Wigan
He played really well against us in the pre-season game when Chesterfield beat us. A few days later Matt Lowton, who had just signed, picked up an injury at Fleetwood. Because it wasn't going to be just a week or two, we moved for Darikwa. We signed him during the time Frank McParland was with us and it was McParland who took him to Forest.
At the time there were big hopes for Cameron Dummigan but he'd missed quite a bit of the previous season having had surgery. Dyche admitted that but for that injury he wouldn't have signed Darikwa. Who knows what might have happened had Dummigan been given his chance.

Didn't pull up any trees at Forest.

It’s easy to see why he would leaf.

Re: ARTICLE: Darikwa departs Forest for Wigan
Would agree with that. I was never a fan of Darikwa - he always seemed so indecisive and lacked quality. Maybe it was difficult following Trippier but Lowton was much much better when he got fit.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 11:56 amPersonally, I thought he was costing us. He played his last league game at Middlesbrough just before Christmas after which Lowton came in. Maybe the Championship was just a step too far for him.
Re: ARTICLE: Darikwa departs Forest for Wigan
Darikwa actually did OK for us despite looking awful. His defending was very poor but his athleticism meant he wasn't caught out as often as you would have expected.
He did alright for Forest until his injury.

Re: ARTICLE: Darikwa departs Forest for Wigan
I agree I thought that our coaches could have improved some aspects Darikwa lacked as that's why we signed him in the first place.
Still water under the bridge now I suspect.
