Bit of a modern version but the Camden Pale Ale is very nice as well.

Irwell Works ( Ramsbottom) - Green Manalishi.
Quite simply the finest beer.
Ever.....
( they use green hops rather than dried hops . Like using fresh herbs instead of dried in cooking. Immense flavour )
Believe me it is , genuinely, sensational. Only available for a limited period when they harvest the hops in August.

If you like the dark stuff, Vocation of Hebden, did some belting stuff last year. Check their website out for limited editions and collaborations . They do reasonably priced delivery, while this pandemic shoite is on too. Once it's over they have, well worth a visit, bars.whentheballmoves wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 10:26 pm3 stouts:

Re: Timothy Taylor’s Landlord
I'll second Saltaire Blonde - lovely pint and transfers quite well to the bottle. Last I looked,
it was 4 for £6 in Tesco.
Timothy Taylors lanlord is a cracking pint on draught, but I don't think it transfers to the bottle
quite so well.
Just finished a few Bishop's fingers off and off to bed now with a Bene and hot.
Yesterday forgotten already.
Goodnight peeps

It's actually quite disappointing from the bottle.

Now I like bottled Landlord but less keen on draught, always been a bit strong for me. Having finished my Christmas (various) and birthday (Moorhouses various) beers, returned to Bowland’s Hen Harrier tonight. Very nice. Moved onto Lakes gin with Fevertree tonic (essential)

Re: Timothy Taylor’s Landlord
I was well angry at the match today. I have a 9% IPA in the fridge so had a bottle. There’s a local microbrewery brought out a Scotch Ale (8.5%) so I had 2 small glasses after running errands. Came home had a nice very small glass of Four Roses bourbon. I remembered to feed the pets and have 1/2 bottle of white and full bottle of red around here somewhere.

Don't drink in the house, I'm 66 this year and fortunately it's never appealed to me.
I would be checking into rehab if I did given the past 9 months of turmoil and then the depressing state of our football
I do enjoy a drink but need the stimulus of a pub/bar.

Re: Timothy Taylor’s Landlord
Hmmm. Wainwrights for me. The TT beers are all good as well. I worked with a family member of Timothy Taylor's, he was a non exex director. He told me Boltmaker was the old best bitter brew rebranded.
I was always asking him for things from the shop, but they don't have a brewery shop, so all I ever got was the factory newsletter.
I'm missing the Landlord, boltmaker and the new blonde beer, knowles spring from the Wooly Sheep in Skipton. Possibly the best pint in England.

Re: Timothy Taylor’s Landlord
I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Taylor's Ram Tam.
Its essentially Landord with added caramel. They used to tend to sell it in autumn and winter when it was more popular due to its darker colour. It's now bottled and I think it's available all year round now.
A fine , tasty, drink. Used to enjoy it in the Prince Albert many years ago.

One that’s seems to be all over the place, especially down south, is Sharp’s Doom Bar. It’s not one that I like though, I think it’s bloody awful stuff.
The biggest problem I’ve had, liking a beer a d travelling around the UK a bit during the week, is that not everywhere either sells enough or keeps the beer well enough for it to be a good pint.
I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve had to return a pint because it’s gone sour.

Re: Timothy Taylor’s Landlord
It must be well over 40 years since I first sampled a pint of Landlord and whilst it's perhaps never been an absolute 'favourite of the week', neither has it ever been relegated from my EPL of Beers; others have been promoted and relegated - some never to return - but Landlord's been the ever reliable permanent fixture.

It’s from Keighley. What do you expect? Nothing but excellence
In my day there were some cracking small Timmy Taylor’s pubs around town. Alas I expect most of them have closed down.

Sorry, I missed this yesterday.
Sainsbury's, it's available in Devon almost permanently.
Also I believe there is a Fullers on line shop, not sure what they sell though.
