I think most people pay for their fuel by card so don’t have that problem ;)

Not making much difference at the moment

With working from home and football being cancelled I’m currently making £20 last nearly 6 weeks

I have a "save the change" thing with my bank where debit card transactions get rounded up in that the rounded element goes into a savings account. So if the petrol pump goes to £20.01 then 99p is transferred. It's surprising how it adds up !

Sainsbury’s in Colne filling station pumps allow you to input how much fuel is delivered in multiples of £5. For example if I wish to put in £25 I press the £10 button twice followed by the £5 button before I lift the nozzle. It then only delivers £25 worth of fuel. Magic.
If you want £21.01 then you will have to do it manually.

Ali G had this issue sussed years ago. All you need is a £19.99 note Tim and you'll never have to p*ss about with the pennies ever again

Why would you just put an arbitrary amount in rather than filling it up?

Are you sneaking in a political thread by disguising it as a thread about a former Burnley goalkeeper? ;)

Has anyone else stopped the pump at £20/30 and then found it has gone a penny over whilst you are putting the pump back? I''m sure some are set to do that to pee you off.

Don't even start me on people who just put £10 or £20 at a time and stop at a petrol station every other day. I don't think they realise they're not in a formula one race where a lighter fuel load makes you go quicker.

Half a tank or less is optimum for fuel efficiency apparently.

You should've pulled up to listen. But its parking the bloody thing that's the problem. I struggle with all 3 of mine!

What about Parking meters? The ones that don't give change.

Fee is £1.70 but you only have 2 pound coins so someone makes 30p.

And then you buy 3 hours of parking time but only use 2 hours but no refund.

A friend had a V8 Discovery and used it to tow his 30 foot caravan. He reckoned he got 5 to 8 miles per gallon.

Personally, I prefer a fuel efficient car, save the money and stay in a nice hotel.

I were in the petrol station at Rising Bridge one morning before work, my change were £5.01 and the chap didn't have any penny's , he asked me if he could owe me a penny. Due to the increased costs in there I refused and took 2p off him so owed him a penny. He weren't happy. :D
