Whenever I see heavy rain forecast I aways think of the people and their businesses in Hebden Bridge, it must be soul destroying.

Hope Billington and Whalley are ok, its getting as though those areas are flooded every couple of years now. Flood defences just push the problems further down stream.

Given they work their way through the alphabet when naming storms , we're at "D" next. Could I propose that when they get to "H" they name that one Higgins. Hurricane Higgins has a certain ring.....

Haha but it's got to be a girlie name next. In fact it'll be Darcy (which I think of as either M or F, maybe apt for these "non-binary" confused times).

UK/Ireland/Netherlands use different names (but same alphabetical M/F/M/F etc system) to France/Spain/Portugal/Belgium. The latter have just had Filomena which caused big unusual snows in Madrid area. They've got Lola (LalalalaLola) coming a few down the line- we have to make do with Lilah when we get that far.

That line is always used as if it was something unusual. Do reporters believe that in a normal month we get exactly the average rainfall every day?

Feel really sorry for those living in areas prone to flooding. As if things aren't bad enough at the moment without having to worry about your house getting flooded again.

Multicultural? I can't work out whether it is actually a list that is nothing but trendy, or whether it's a list written by someone who is determined to prove him or herself to be nothing but trendy.

I did have an Uncle Wilson, mind you. Wilson Phillips was his full name - and no, he didn't have three granddaughters who used his name.

I was only reading t’other day that Trump had heard about Hurricane Higgins and was happy for the USA to send foreign aid.

Next letter is D.
To brighten the times, can it be Storm Daniels?
I am sure that would be stormy!

There's another 'D' who might second that.
But he'd be hard to believe. ;)

I am puzzled as to how a 'storm' can last for a few days. Its wet but it doesn't look stormy to me. Is this another Trun Up the Heat project nowadays?

BBC weather (Look North West) said our area had on an amber weather flood warning and also a yellow weather warning for snow and ice. Incredible.

And it is snowing now.
