That bit of skill to take on TAA was sublime.

Not seen a piece of flair and audacity like that from a Burnley player for quite some time. Top flight too against an international full back - a good one at that.

It's the best bit of skill I've ever seen from a Burnley player. It wasn't showy or unnecessary either, he beat his man and got his cross in.

What's the best bit of skill you've seen from a Burnley player?

Had him all tied up all night. AGAIN! TAA is massively overated but take nothing away from Dwight, when he is on it he is absolutely top class.

Not the best but Michael Kightly having Andre Wisdom crawling after him like a dog was pretty funny.

Scotty Arf vs QPR was a bit special

Glen Little vs Bristol Rovers too. TM erupted at that one.

There’s still nothing better in football than seeing some quality wing play.

Billy Ingham ( ginger pele ) flick over the head of the Chelsea defender ( Harris I think ) and then volley the ball into the top corner for a 1 -0 win against Chelsea in the 80 oddth minute

Defour's gravity defying lob flick thingy was miraculous. I've seen it 100's of times and still can't fully comprehend it.

I think that’s 3 times Dwight has played against TAA and every time he’s had him on toast.

Watching Ted McMinn beating players in slow motion, putting them on their backsides was always good fun to watch from a winger.

Completely agree start to finish. Trent is grossly overrated and his arrogance isn’t serving him very well. Bravo to Dwight for rinsing Trent and sending him out for a hot dog!

Made it more special because of the opponent's. New Year's Day 1966. 2-0 up but weren't we down to 10 men. Ralph would be barely 20 then so very impudent and audacious as you say.

Glen Little against Bristol Rovers always springs to mind. Defour's chip in the cup game as well.

McNeil at home against Spurs just before lockdown pulled off a pretty naughty bit of skill to beat one player and nutmeg another.

All of Defour's goals were special. Loved his first one against Hull when he brought the ball down and turned past the Hull player. Pure class.

Jay Rod against Forrest I think, Championship at the Turf, ran the ball down the left, stopped, brought it on to his right foot and fired over everyone to score a sublime goal.

McNeill’s skill was superb in this move. It was one of those occasions that you see live and say, “what just happened there? How did he do that?” Even when I saw the first slow motion replay I was still saying, “what did he just do?”

Taffy used to do that kind of thing regularly. Dwight is a lot like him with his close control skinning the defender and putting in a great cross.

I’ve just put my tin hat on so I’m going to say it - I don’t think he meant to do exactly what he did. I think he tried to drag the ball back on to his left foot in front of TAA. Either way it was lovely stuff. I preferred the move where he beat three men, including TAA, got to the bye line and pulled back for JBG who fired wide.

I was at this game. It was a long time ago, but I'm sure it was Ralph who sat on the ball.

Willie Morgan was sent off for giving Mike England a smack, after England had been fouling him all afternoon.

Robbie flipping it over Michael Carrick twice keeping the ball in the air against West Ham on the Turf. Mesmerising. I remember the back of the programme which had nearly twice as many West Ham players as Burnley.

Coates did it at Liverpool. I was there on the Kop and ended up running for my life through Stanley Park because a friend from Bacup started talking in proper Rozzie and we were sussed out.

I mentioned earlier that I thought we were down to 10 men so thanks for confirming it. Rovers went down that season, a season that for them was badly interrupted at the beginning with the polo epidemic in the town.

Is that the reason for Lennons lyrics from “A day in the life “ 🤔
