Who would have thought that the Burnley Fans watching the Mighty Clarets beat Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield on 24th. September 1974 would have to wait 16,922 days to see their team repeat the feat !! (Apologies if I miscalculated the days!!). When we drew with Liverpool 1-1 at the Turf on 8th. March 1975 we were second in Division 1!!

When we drew 1-1 in '75 we absolutely played them off the pitch in the first half but only had a Ray Hankin goal to show for it. We sat back in the 2nd half, Terry McDermott equalised and our challenge for the title just melted away after that.

We have beaten Liverpool since then though - a cup win at home in 2005.
