Tonight was memorable
One of those events where people will ask:
"Where were you the last time we beat Liverpool at Anfield?"
Remember tonight. They don't come along every week.
In 1974 when Ian Brennan scored the goal that beat the Reds at Anfield, they weren't that far ahead of us. Their domination of English football wasn't to start in earnest until the following season.
Fast forward to 2021. They are English Champions and haven't lost at home in 3 years and 9 months. They only dropped one point at home the previous season (To Burnley).
Yes, this is momentous for little old Burnley. Remember it !

I think the answer for the vast majority of Burnley fans will be ‘at home’. That’s the only downside of tonight.RalphCoatesComb wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 12:46 amOne of those events where people will ask:

But, on a positive note, more of us will have seen it "live" than would have been the case pre and post pandemic

Re: Tonight was memorable
Now the question is: Why can we beat United at Old Trafford, Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Liverpool at Anfield but not City at the Etihad ?!

Josep "Pep" Guardiola Sala has us sussed. He has a team that can unlock defences like ours. On the other hand, Klopp's tactics aren't good enough.

First game in years That I was not able to watch the mighty Clarets play as I was coming round from a revised decompression discectomyRalphCoatesComb wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 12:46 amOne of those events where people will ask:

I was able to listen via 5 live but kept drifting in and out of conciencenous , until, ORIGI enthusiastically shouted by the commentator brought me round again.
From then on i listened intently. Ash has taken some stick on here recently but as soon as he stepped up for the pen I just knew it was going in.
Yeeeeeees get in me babber.
The nurses were not happy.
I will never, ever forget this win.

Re: Tonight was memorable
Liverpool stopped short of the byline and crossed to our disciplined defenders. Manchester City are more patient and always take the ball to the byline, if that is the move. They then gave defenders facing the wrong way and several options.

I could be wrong, but I thought they dropped 2 points, at home the previous season (To Burnley)?RalphCoatesComb wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 12:46 amOne of those events where people will ask:
